Achelois can come across as very
cold and serious when viscets first
meet her but she lives up to the
name she was given when she
joined Hades’s Angels. Achelois is
the name of a Greek minor
Goddess of the moon and her
name means “She who washes
away pain.”Achelois, being one
of the only female Angels puts a
lot of pressure on herself and
does much more work to prove
that she deserves to be one of the
Angels, mostly for herself. She
puts up a front when you first
meet her but she has a deep
heart and cares about everyone.
She goes above and beyond her
job of wrangling escaped demons
by spending her nights in the
Mortal world, visiting hospitals
and comforting those who are
sick. She came from a tough
background before becoming an
Angel, but even then, she never
refused to take care of everyone
she came across. Living with
nothing, on the streets in a place
that didn’t care about her at all,
but she still spent her time and
effort helping those who were
Sick and suffering around her
instead of focusing on her. Due
to her knowledge of herbs and
medical practices, she has
become the unofficial medic for
the Angels during their tougher
fights. Some of them jokingly call
her the nurse of the group, but
she has taken it to be a
complement of her skills. The
best time to see her relaxed and
letting her true personality
out is when you put her with
Apollo and Hermes and watch her
laugh at their jokes. That’s when
she really shines.

Apollo:
“Achelois? Well sure, she practically

Apollo has been described as a flirt,
fitting his own name pretty well, and
can come across as annoying due to
his “frat boy” like style. However,
there has always been one viscet
who has seen more to him than his
class clown behavior, Achelois. She
found him when he had lost
everything and was able to comfort
him through it. Achelois was the one
who convinced Hades to give him a
chance as an Angel because she saw
potential in him. Ever since he
became an Angel, he regained his
confidence and gives Achelois the
credit for it. He confides in her and is
usually fairly close to her when they
go into battle, choosing to partner
up whenever they can. People
mistake this for romance and are
then surprised when Apollo acts flirty
to others, but it is purely a very tight
friendship. When she is serious,
Achelois is not afraid to tell Apollo to
knock it off and he is quick to listen
to her orders. Apollo has been called
her shadow and general due to the
closeness of the pair. Achelois brings
out Apollo’s best qualities including
his quick out of the box thinking and
he brings out her more carefree side.
When people talk about opposites
attract, Achelois and Apollo portray
it very well.

Hades:
“Achelois reminded me of my
soulmate when I first met her. I am
very proud of how she has thrived

Hades found Achelois suffering on
the streets with no name and he was
moved by how much care she put to
helping those around her. Something
within her reminded him of his
departed soulmate and he couldn’t
bear to let her struggle any longer,
so he offered her a position among
his Angels. When he offered her the
position, he suggested a name that
fit her giving nature; Achelois. Since
then, she has quickly become one of
his toughest Angels in the fact that
she doesn’t let anything get in her
way. She takes everything at full
speed and never gives up. Hades,
confident in her skills has her as one
of his top generals for escaped
demons and confides in her when he
is struggling with decisions. Hades
likes to think of himself as a mentor
to Achelois and is sure to teach her
everything he can. He taught her
how to read and write, as she had
never learned how. He has offered
opportunities for her to learn
anything she has wanted and
encourages her the whole time.
Hades pushes her because he knows
she can handle it and that she is
always looking for ways to improve
herself in every way. It sometimes
comes across as him not being
impressed by her achievements but
both of them know he is incredibly
proud of her no matter what.

Cel is very similar to Achelois as
they both spent their whole lives
caring for the sick and suffering.
Achelois sees Cel as a hero in ways
since she not only became fluent
with medicines and herbs, but also
founded the House of Angels.
Achelois and Cel often times spend
hours together, going through
Cel’s old journals working together
to improve procedures to help the
sick and to make new medications
that they never thought about.
Cel and Achelois are sometimes
referred to as twins just as they
are so similar and Cel considers
Achelois to be her connection to
The mortal realm and the House
of Angels, since Cel cannot leave
the underworld in full form. At the
start, Cel was the teacher but
recently Achelois has been able
to teach Cel somethings now that
she visits hospitals at night.
Between the two of them, they
have a fully functioning hospital
for the Angels of the Underworld
that can treat any injury. Cel feels
confident that Achelois will not
only surpass her, but will go on
to do incredible things for the
mortal realm, even if Achelois is
not as confident in herself. Cel
was the one that suggested that
Achelois visit hospitals after one
night of seeing the viscet feeling
down on herself. Cel gave her the
idea to revisit her roots to allow
her mind to relax on the long day
she had. After the nighttime
hospital visit, Achelois felt more
determined to do whatever she
could for Hades and credits Cel for
inspiring her and reminding her
just why she became an Angel in
the first place, to help others.

Achelois looked at the demon that
was currently preoccupied with
ripping trees out of the ground to
throw at Hermes. She turned to
Apollo and motioned to the wing of
trees to the left, “You go and
distract him while I try to get a
lasso around his neck.”
Apollo nodded and quickly took off
into the trees while Achelois went
the other direction. She picked her
path through the shrubbery to
avoid alerting the demon that she
was there. Suddenly, the demon
turned to face her and snarled at
her. She drew her sword and
quickly sidestepped as the next
tree came flying at her. She saw
Apollo rushing through the field
directly at the tail of the demon,
his bow drawn and an arrow
notched. Achelois took the
directive and tried to pull its
attention away from Apollo as he
aimed for its neck. Instead the
demon spun on Apollo causing
his arrow to fly off course and
instead hit the demon’s leg,
only angering it further.
Achelois called to the demon
and it turned on her trying to grab
her in its teeth. The fangs glanced
off her armor and she spun to the
side to avoid the worst of the
bite. She motioned back towards
Apollo and he grabbed one of his
arrows, tying the lasso to it before
shooting the arrow above the
demon’s neck. Achelois grabbed
the arrow and quickly turned back,
running right under the beasts head.

tightly securing the lasso. The
demon bucked, but Achelois
looped another length around its
muzzle, creating a set of reins
to get the demon back under
control.
She sat on the demon’s neck and
offered a hand to Apollo, “job well

“She has always been kind to me.

Achelois met Tyto when she first
visited the House of Angels. Tyto at
the time was still struggling with
pain from the experiments she had
gone through and Achelois was
determined to help her. Through
long nights and hard work, Achelois
was able to come up with a regime
of medications that could help Tyto
be more comfortable and in less
pain. This of course came with lots
of trial and error, which can be hard
on both parties. But Tyto was always
happy that Achelois never gave up
on trying to help her live a better
quality of life. Through all the
difficulties, Tyto has always shown
her appreciation for what Achelois
did for her, as she wasn’t required
to do anything for her. Tyto often
times gifts Achelois feathers for her
room in the underworld as a sign of
appreciation for everything she has
done. Achelois actually has a small
emblem on her armor that has a
caduceus- to represent her medical
background- crossing a scythe- the
symbol of Hades- with a feather
hanging off the scythe. With
Achelois being busy in the
underworld, the pair don’t see each
other much but when they do have
time together it is a strange
exchange between them. To the
outsider, no one would really think
of them as more than just
acquaintances but that is just the
way their relationship looks to those
who don’t know their history.
