uh hey whoever clicked on this because you are very curious like me

im getting glasses soon? im nervous??
im nearsighted now, anything more than ~15 feet away is blurry
its been like this since around the beginning of the year, but it's gotten worse
i hope i pick some that actually look nice on me, i have doubts because everytime ive tried on glasses i looked hideous

but,
it will probably be fine,
any tips from people who wear glasses??

felt the same as you before getting my glasses.
in my experience, after a few days/weeks of having glasses, they're not really a big deal anymore. you don't have to always wear them all the time. .
if they get cloudy or dirty, wash them with warm water and soap gently. don't use towels or paper towels to wipe your glasses, might damage the lenses. use that piece of cloth that comes with your glasses.
if you're not using your glasses, put them in your case so they will be safe

clean them a lot and take good care of them!! kind of obvious, but it's really important because mine are SUPER scratched. my vision is horrible, -5/20. i've had glasses practically my whole life, and i think that you should get used to it quickly!! also for glasses that look hideous on you, i do know that there are some websites that have a bunch of glasses that you take a picture of yourself and 'try' the glasses on over the picture if that makes any sense. those glasses are usually pretty cheap in price, too! hope you have fun with your new glasses :>

I'd say you don't put them so the lenses is what's holding the glasses up, might damage it, and don't wear it at home, and at first, don't put them on too much, else your nose will hurt, and hurt not tickle, there is a difference
make sure to remember them when u go out, cuz I forgot em home twice now, and I've only had em for a week
also not all glasses are hideous on you, keep trying, mine is really REAALLY thin, like people barely even notice that I'm wearing them until I take them off


also, at first, if you go to school or something, make sure to take them off whenever u can, sometimes they make u hate em to guts if you put them on for too long

be quick tho! it gets worse if you dont get them immediately! My hands seem blurry when I stretch my arm without glasses cuz I put off going to the doc once I realized how weak it got

I only have a few tips; try on as many glasses as you can!! even if you find a pair you like, try on more because you never know if you'll find some that you'll like more. And I can't stress this enough, if your glasses don't fit perfectly tell your eye doctor to get them adjusted because nothing is more annoying than glasses that are a little too big or they're too long. Iv been through maybe 4 or 5 pairs of glasses and each time you go get a new pair, you'll get used to telling your doctor to fix them for you and you'll get more comfortable picking out the right pair.
