WHAT IS A DEERSSERT?
Deerssert are a mystical, mythological species that appear in history every so often. Sightings grew sparser and sparser through the years, but now they've started to appear more and more. Here at the HQ, a centre dedicated to keeping these creatures from being hunted, we cannot foster them all-- and that's where you come in!

The simplest way to explain them? Deersserts are deer with a twist! While the specifics vary from deer to deer, they all have a few things in common. Deersserts have muscle, skin, fur and bone, but they are described as tasting like sweets. Their scent lingers so much that hides carry a fragrant scent even after death. Instead of fluffy tails, they have a pouf of whipped cream or ice cream [depending on the deer!] with some manner of fruit on top.

Size-wise, they're about the size of a border collie, but have been known to grow to the size of a horse in rare cirucmstances. [In even rarer circumstances, they have gotten bigger. This is the largest deerssert known.] Likewise, they are born as small as a full-grown rabbit, and some never progress past this size.

first public deerssert ive made since i came back from my hiatus!! this sweet grumpy fluffy kid is based off of whipped cream, with, of course, a cherry on top. for this contest, choose their favorite food to eat whipped cream with!! it won't be edited into their design, but it can be part of their personality, or something they like to snack on. ends on august 26th!

If Cerise is really honest with herself, her favourite whipped cream "meal", is whipped cream straight from the can. In her opinion, there's nothing better than kicking back with a fresh can and letting it rip.

However, in more civilised company, Cerise would say her favourite thing to eat whipped cream with is waffles and stawberries. Delicious!

Short Story
The rain bore down mercilessly upon the heart
of the city, pounding on the rooftops and turning
the cobbled streets of the Downtown District into
a warren of slick stones and muddy waters.
Oliver walked briskly with his umbrella shielding
him from the oncoming downpour. Oliver slowly reached
his workplace, an old, but cute coffee shop in the heart
of the city he lived in. He swung the door open, greeting
his co-workers with a subtle nod and a smile as he
walked to the back of the shop to prepare himself
for his shift. He always seemed to receive odd looks
wherever he was. He got comments about his facial
expressions and how he seemed to
never display emotion. Little did those people
know that he always seemed to get excited by the
little things. Oliver enjoyed the rain, he was down right
fascinated by it. And his job? He loved it. A lot of
customers seemed to be deterred by his resting face, but
those dad did exchange words with him quickly grew
to like him. Oliver is extremely easy going and enjoys
making people smile. His favourite part of his job is decorating
and baking. During breakfast hours, The small cafe serves
hotcakes. He enjoys adding the small dollop of whipped cream
and a fresh cherry on top. Although it may not show on his face,
handing out something he created and seeing customers enjoy it,
truely makes him happy.

Dusk is a brilliant kid, he can be a bit quiet at times but he loves having company around. he craves attention and hugs.
hes super smart and loves to collect information, studying the things around him and writing down everything he sees. he is especially good with biology and chemistry. hes studied it his whole life and makes a somewhat decent doctor.

when he was a fawn he moved away from home with his mother to get away from his abusive father. both of his parents were scientists, his mother more into plants while his father was more interested in robotics and chemistry.
thanks to his parent's science work his old home was an old mansion in the mountains. it was very secluded from the rest of the world and he never really got a chance to meet anyone his age thanks to his homeschooling. he liked to explore the huge house when he could or spend time in his little fort in the woods behind the house. he was rather upset about leaving at first, he was too little to understand why and he was upset that he didn't get to pack up his entire room and instead ended up with a backpack of his things to take with him. they moved out to the city together and lived in a small apartment for a while.

favorite whipped cream food;; My mother and I used to make strawberry shortcakes a lot when I was younger, though they usually ended up looking far less pretty then this one. It was the thought and taste that counted, right? Anyway we always ended up using way too much whipped cream.

personality -

Elowen is a rather quiet guy, he tends to keep to himself in most situations. He doesn't put himself out there or approach others on his own, and rarely does he go out without needing at least three days preparation and three days to then rest afterwards. His friends tend to be extroverted - which is both a blessing and curse. They help him out of his shell but they also constantly annoy him with badgering over plans and cancelations. He prefers to stay at home, cuddling up in soft blankets and just daydreaming away. He has an impressive collection of journals just filled with little doodles and song lyrics that come to him randomly. A lot of them are just completely empty too - he has a weird thing about buying every pretty journal he sees and then just displaying them instead of using them. When out in public he's always daydreaming as well, which leads to people to think of him as more of an airhead. Some of his most common vocabulary includes "what?" as he's snapped back into reality.

likes & dislikes -

Some of his favorite things are music, doodling, daydreaming, and spending time in the same cafe in one specific little corner. He collects a multiple things such as journals, pretty cups, fluffy blankets - perhaps this is a byproduct of his anxiety.

He's a very sweet guy, and therefore doesn't hate a whole lot. He dislikes loud noises like thunder and concerts, crowded places like the streets at rush hour, and when his friends get a little too forceful.

strengths & weaknesses -

He may be a bit of an airhead but that doesn't stop him! He has a talent in drawing, writing song lyrics, and almost all aspects of digital media and technology. He spends a lot of time on the internet, and self-teaches a lot of the skillsets he holds.

His weaknesses are more entailed to his anxiety and introverted personality, with things such as his inability to talk on the phone. He has to take a lot of breaks sense he gets burned out easily, and he needs time to regenerate his energy and personality. His extroverted friends don't understand this at all, which is annoying.

a day in the life -

Elowen's days are simple but busy. He wakes up around eight in the morning and takes his laptop and charger to the cafe down the street from his apartment. He spends a good chunk of his day here, working on projects for himself and for companies that hire him as a freelance artist. He also spends time making beats and writing lyrics that he posts on his own social medias - perhaps he will be rising musician? for now he sticks to his laptop work. He eats breakfast and lunch at the cafe with multiple stops for coffee and desserts, and leaves around three o'clock to go back home. This is considered his free time where he does the errands such as grocery shopping. However he usually ends up taking a nap and watching movies for hours on end, then delivering food for dinner and usually a late-night snack.
