Nunet's First Taste
The sun glittered past the trees and off the surface of the waves. The broad beach of Triassica-2 was undisturbed and serene, with the exception of the recently washed up and still unconscious Kleptagon on its shoreline. Their pelt was drenched and heavy from ocean water. Another Kleptagon, stranger to our ashore friend, spotted them from afar and went to revive them. After much vigorous shaking and other more effective resuscitation techniques, the once-unconscious Kleptagon spluttered and coughed up the water in their chest.
“My name is Ametrine. What’s yours?”
“Call me Nunet. Is there anywhere around here where a Kleptagon can get a drink? I’m absolutely parched.”
Nunet and Ametrine spent the rest of the day getting to know each other. Nunet had been surfing all day, from their last memory, but somehow crashed and knocked themself out, later washing ashore. Their board was nowhere to be found and mysteriously, a fish hook had made its way into Nunet’s ear that wasn’t there before.
“Bizarre, right?” Nunet said, over another sip of Sparkling Peachberry Blast Punch.
“Yes, I think so. Hopefully we can regain your memory and get you back home. I’m sure someone is missing you dearly.” Ametrine replied.
They talked until the sun set and Ametrine invited Nunet to stay the night. Nunet got the recipe for that drink as a reminder of times past and went on their way the next day, vowing to never take that life-saving assistance for granted.
