This red dog has a mask. Masks are symbolized by Em. Em is dominant over E, so if the dog was EmE, it would still have a mask. Masks can be as minimal as just around the muzzle to as extensive as going down the chest and legs, and sometimes the tailtip and toe tips as well.

Masks cover both red and black. They can also appear on brindle dogs.
