Red basically "covers up" certain areas of a black dog's body with a reddish color. It comes in a variety of patterns. It can only be seen if a dog's black locus is homozygous recessive, or kk. The red gene is known as agouti and is symbolized by A.
Any black areas left on a dog can be affected by liver and dilute.
