~ K I R U N A S ~

~ Kirunas are naturally docile creatures who live in heavily forested areas. Every Kiruna bonds with another living thing, be it a plant, or another animal. The traits of said living thing are able to be seen on each individual Kiruna. Any Kiruna without any clear relationship to another living thing is said to be an outcast. Without the protection of other Kirunas, outcasts cannot survive. Since 99% of Kirunas bond successfully, the need for large litters is low. The most common number of fawns per pregnancy is two. ~

~ Kirunas are about three feet tall from front hoof to the top of the head, though males can rarely manage to pass 3 1/2 feet at the most. They have anatomy similar to a deer, with long tails to help them stay balanced since they are fast and agile creatures. Male Kirunas have slowly developed shorter fur, and rarely will they have fur longer than an inch on any part of their body. The females have much longer fur, since they spend most of their time raising their young and they don't need to stay as cool as males. Their ears are also another key feature- without them, they would never be able to regulate their body temperature. ~

~The hunting of Kirunas is illegal, but their fur is very valuable for the patterns and colours it can come in. That being said, if a Kiruna is killed in an unnatural way, they can reflect a physical projection of themselves back into the real world. This is extremely rare, and these Kirunas are unable to breed as they are only projections of what they once were. Still, when this does occur, the Kiruna can alter its appearance. They can aquire different accessories, or even a different pattern since the bond from their past life is now broken. This can only happen once, as the alteration of their form can only manifest itself so often. ~
