No Roots - Alice MertonFern stares into a field, looking into the forest. He is young and small but looks unafraid of what stand in front him. A flashback shows him traveling with his parents, trekking through the woods. He digs his claws into the dirt, the takes a running start into the forest. In another flashback, slow we see that his parents were killed in battle with another ca and that Fern managed to run off. Fern doesn't seem to have in trouble with the terrain. He stops, his ear twitches, and he turns his head in the direction of some sound slows down and head that way. soon he crouches. Eyes narrowed. He springs forward, expecting prey, instead he lands on an elderly cat, who laughs at him.
"You young ones are always so excitable", Fern rolls off of the elder, "I could teach you a few tricks kid".
Ferns scoffs and starts to walk away. The elderly cat follows.
"Leave me alone old man, I know what I'm doing".
The cat laughs, then sits down.
"Well I won't follow you much further, that clan territory you heading into."
Fern stops. "they're here too?"
"Of course they are son, they're everywhere."
I'm Still Here - John RzeznikThe old lion is seen trying to teach the younger cat how to pounce. Fern trips and growls at his teacher.
"This is stupid anyway. I already know how to fight. I already know how to hurt."
The old male reaches toward the younger cat, but he hisses.
"Just leave me alone old. I'm not that afraid of the clans just because.... leave me alone!". Fern hisses again and runs off.

Fern is up in a tree, staring at the sky when the older lion hops next to him.
"Not all clans are bad. Not all cats are good."
Fern glanced over at the old cat, looking at him for a while. He tilts his head, he is compelled by the elder's words.
"they had to know that my parents weren't bad, but they still attacked. We didn't mean to be on their land."
The elder cats nod, dropping a tail around his younger compared.

Fern with his newfound respect for his elder hunted alongside him. The two manage to catch two very large birds. They sit down to eat when a pack of gaunt cats springs on them. Occupied by fighting, Fern doesn't notice as his elderly companion falls.
Golden Day - Panic! at the DiscoThe two gaunt cats manage to grab their prey and run off. He turns to the elder cat, lifeless on the ground. Sadness shakes through his body as his claws dig into the dirt. Under his breath, he vows to avenge his fallen friend.

An older Fern runs through the forest, following a scream he hears in the distance. As he's approaching he sees the cat who killed his mentor, much healthier and cornering a female cat. He pounces on the cat but is quickly thrown off. The cat scampers away, and Fern checks on the female.
"They've been terrorizing my friends and I and stealing our food for a long time."
Fern inquires who they are, and the female explains that there is a group of rouge that command the land they use to live on.

Fern meets the female cat's friends and decides they should form their own survivalist group. Under Ferns lead, they grow and are seen adding new members to their ranks frequently. They are ruthless, but they leave the innocent alone. The female and Fern sleep together, developing a sort of love over time. They often fight the rouge cats, but the mentor's murderer isn't there.
My Way (Minor key cover) - Chase Holfelder After a long time of fighting, Fern meets his mentor's killer in battle. The survivalists are outnumbered but charge forward anyway. first the battle looks like it is going well for the survivalists, but soon the tide turns and rouges begin killing Ferns cats. Countless are stuck down, including the female Fern loved. Fern dives for his mentor's murderer, and the two begin to viciously fight. Fern fights hard but isn't able to match his adversaries skill. He is knocked down as the fight rages on.

Fern reflects on his time as leader, remembering the fights this one and shared, and the memories he's made. He remembers his love and feels a general sense of pride for his accomplishments. He sees himself in all that he accomplished, and as he comes too, he regains some energy to fight.
Fern pulls himself up and wobbles forward a few steps. The fight is nearing its end, most of his allies are down, but he was one goal left to fulfill. He spots the murder, and charges toward him. His opponent laughs at his weak state. Fern opponent becomes lax in his defnese, giving Fern the window to defeat him.
Who Are You Really - Mikky EkkoRugged bitter and alone, Fern wonders through the forest. His fur is matted, but he's alive. He spots a clan patrol and climbs a three to avoid it. One of the cats in the patrol splits off to hunt, and Fern follows him through the trees. The cat fails to catch several preys, and Fern calls out to the cat how to better his technique. Fern isn't spotted by the cat, and he begins to make it a habit of advising the clan's cats from the trees.

Ursa can hunt for the voice in the first who has been giving clan advise that is only sometimes helpful. After several attempts, they are able to spot Fern. After several more attempts, the corner him and take him to their leader. Many of the cats are angered and call for Fawnstar to punish the cat, but Fawn instead ask for his name, and who he is. He tells his story as Fawnstar circles and evaluates him.
"Sounds like you need a home."
"I suppose I could use one"
Fwanstar stares at him in deliberation.
"You may join our clan, with the name Fernwhisper, for you tellings. But you must respect my lead"
