Most xiriths end up getting their first partner when they're adults, it's very rare for xiriths to feel any sort of romantic interest when they're at a young age. Xiriths treat their partner as if they're royalty, always trying to spoil each other with love. A xirith couple usually spends time giving each other cheesy compliments, going on dates 24/7 and looottss of cuddles and kisses. Xirith pairs are basically those really dorky and kinda awkward couples you'd see in school. Xiriths are very needy and clingy with their partner, always wanting to spend time with them no matter what.
A xirith pair will agree to breed once they've been together for at least a year or more and have decided to be lifelong mates. The female xirith will be pregnant for at least 5 months, it's pretty obvious when a xirith is pregnant due to their big bellies, droopy antennae and having to walk around at a slower pace than normal. Even after giving birth, the mother will remain having a chubby appearance. Pregnant xiriths usually don't do much when they're pregnant, a pregnant xirith will feel very sleepy most of the time. During pregnancy their partner is usually the one that's doing everything.
On their homeplanet Xiri, xiriths don't have hospitals, nurseries or anything special for giving birth. A due xirith will normally just give birth in their dorm in the hive they live in, as it is advised that pregnant xiriths should stay at home during their last month of pregnancy just in case the baby is ready. Newborn xiriths, which are called xits, are about the same size as a human baby, and will grow in size quickly. Xits will have spots all over their body which will stay until they reach adolescence (which is age 10 for xiriths) shortly after a xit is born, a microchip will be placed inside their body so xiriths can track where a lost or abducted xit is to find them asap. Newborn xits are completely blind. They'll stay blind for about their first three months, eventually they'll have the strength to open their eyes and their eye vision will slowly get better. Xiriths normally only give birth to one, but there are rare instances where they give birth to twins and, even more rarely, triplets!
