How did they spend this Easter Fools day? he... didn't quite spend the day like he wanted to. oh, but he did get what he wanted.
his friends had been with him on the eve of easter fools, and on that night, they knew there was a decision they had to make. that jocular glint of the eye, festering mania nestled underneath that quivering excitement; that smile of pure lunacy, a raving craze sealed within cheerily twisted lips, writhing for freedom; the jitter of his limbs and tail, alive and mockingly twiddling with sheer anticipation; the jesting swivel of his ears, ready, waiting for the melody of screeches to delight their insanity so... it was a shared thought amongst the group, a grave task they had to carry out.
they could not let him play whatever stupid easter fools pranks he had in mind. so they didn't.
the poor kymph woke up to being smothered in his pillow, his friends mumbling around him as he wrestled the blankets wrapped in a cocoon around him. he screamed, he kicked, he fought for his dear freedom, yet he lost that fight, and struggled in defeat as ropes were slung around his coffin of blankets, head poking out to witness the cackling of his cruel captors. there he was left with echoing snickers and immobility, a prisoner of his so-called friends (who at least didn't put too many fake bugs and bizarre things in the meals they brought him).
oh, but it was all a façade, that supposed loss! his efforts were already spent and the traps already set! and so, he smirked, delighted by the yells of shock that overjoyed his mischievous little mind that day.
at the end of the day, the group trudged back in defeat to the room they imprisoned him in. the soldiers had lost their battle, bathed in the blood of neon paint and iced water, beautifully cloaked in the carnage of silly string and confetti, strung with the guts of fake snakes and egg yolks. they wore masks of drying tears and grumpy defeat, eyes sadly glinting with their loss and frustration in this foolish battle.
oh, he won for sure that day.
