xxHiram's appearance is true to her age. She is thin and ill-muscled, even when well-fed. Her fur, once black and ruddy underneath, is rough and grizzled, and her face and paws are turning white. Even her back has not been spared, as her spine is hunched in such a way that she cannot lift her head beyond her shoulders when she is not laying down. However, this wolf's history of youth persists. A nicked ear from an old fight; droopy, sad, but clear amber eyes; a fast, bounding gait. Her youth still lies in the shadows of age.

xxLong ago, Hiram was a proud mother many times over. Though she was raised well, nothing would prepare her for the challenges of caring for the young. Her indecisiveness, her refusal to change her mind once a choice was made, her reliance on pure chance, all forced her to outlive her children and youngest siblings. Over years of trial and much error, she has learned to be resourceful, to take life into her own paws and work to keep those around her alive.
