A Ridgeback Hyena is a member of the Hyaenidae family primarily found in East Africa. Much like its cousin, the aardwolf, Ridgeback Hyenas feed on insects to sustain themselves. It is the second largest member of the Hyaenidae family, surpassed only by the spotted hyena. However, this is where the similarities between Ridgeback Hyenas and other hyenas end.
Ridgeback Hyenas exhibit a far more friendly and approachable personality compared to its cousins, allowing them to be tamed and turned into loyal housepets. They get their names from the characteristic "ridge" of fur running down their backs, but perhaps their most notable feature are their wacky colours and the "mist" excreted from openings by their ribs and on their backsides. It is believed to be caused by consuming toxic waste dumped into the waters that they drink from. This mist is in no way harmful to the hyena or those around it, and appears to be solely cosmetic.
- Welcome, visitor, and thank you for stopping by at our ongoing guest artist search! If you enjoy making designs and/or you'd like to partake in the growth of a newly founded species, this is the competition you're looking for. ♥

:: GUIDELINES
- When it comes to designing rules, it all comes down to "don't remove the gas" (modifying the flow etc is totally fine) and "have fun with everything else". Line edits encouraged, show us what you've got!
- We'd like to see at least 2 or 3 entries before we decide if you fit the team.
- Guest artists are allowed to do 5 adopts on the main thread. Once you reach your limit, you may re-enter.
- You can, of course, put your designs up for adoption on the main thread (recoloring needed) once you're a guest artist.
- Although this is, by name, a guest artist competition, after putting your last adopt up you can be asked to be a full time artist. This depends on both your designs and communication with other members of the staff - good atmosphere is very important.
- We would prefer you not to do covers. Link to your old entries in your most recent one instead. It may ruin your aesthetics, yeah, but regularly checking a sub-thread for more sub-threads quickly gets pretty annoying and increases the chance of missing an entry.

:: THIS BEING SAID...
- Some things in this thread might change with time, but the general idea stays the same. Go wild with your entries, you have our blessing. If you have any questions, ask away and we'll do our best to give back a satisfactory answer. ♥
