- was never good at lining on Oekaki (or with a mouse at all) but decided to give it a try anyways...
not sure how it'll turn out, but I'm having a lot of fun so far! it's currently a wip and I plan to work on it more soon. if I don't get it finished then it may take me a few weeks, as I have computer problems and rarely am allowed on another computer to go on CS, even on weekends.
notes
- feline/canine body shape
- long ears, almost like those of a rabbit's; floppy when young but straighten as an adult (floppy ears as an adult could be a mutation) (needs work) [?]
- long, reptilian tongue like a komodo dragon's but without the split end (split tongue could be a mutation)
- long, thick, flat tail is a good steering and propelling device when swimming, can scoop sand/dirt, and smack away predators or stun prey
- muscular arms like a komodo dragon's
- large webbed feline paws with long, hooked retractable claws; wide paws, long claws, and webbing (only visible when paws are spread) make them good diggers, swimmers, and climbers
- long tail (might be making two different ones... or maybe they have two tails on default?) (needs work) [?]
- scaly plates somewhere - around eyes, on back, and/or on arms [?]
- diet consists of mammals, seafood, berries, fruit, vegetables, and pretty much whatever they can find
- can go at least a few days without food or water
- when healthy, well-fed, and hydrated, fangs can eject venom (shooting range is around a few feet). it has different effects on different animals. to humans, it numbs the area (which limits movement of the part but does not stop it). to smaller prey like woodland rodents and fish, it can temporarily stun or paralyze them. to larger prey like deer and seals, it can stun or numb the area. their venom usually comes from a diet of venomous snakes, suggesting that they gain their venom from their prey. another possibility is that something in their body takes chemicals from the venom and turns it into their own.
- when fully grown, they have 9 flat but sharp spikes on the tip of their tail. each year until 9 years of age, they grow a spike, and 9 spikes shows that they're an adult. their final spike, the largest one at the very tip, often finishes growing near their 10th birthday.
- though most of their fur is commonly short and sleek, the fur around their neck area tends to be thicker and fluffier, somewhat resembling the developing mane of an adolescent male lion. this fur has proven to be quite protective of the soft flesh of the neck. they also have some longer silky fur on the lower portion of each leg (and on the tail/spine/underbelly like lions?)
- more information (backstory, more traits, etc.) coming soon
