Willowpetal gained her name through a multitude of circumstances. Her prefix, Willow-, comes from her original home. She was born a kitty pet, who loved her owners dearly. They named her Willow for her grace, and the color of her coat matching the faded lilac of the willow flowers. When they moved and left her there, she acted as the willow tree and stayed rooted to her spot waiting in vain for their return.
She created a small den for herself in a turned over flower pot. She lined it with various flowers that created a pleasant aroma for her to return to. One night, she was followed in by cats that smelt of the wild, but she paid no attention to anything outside of her bubble of existence. When a faded tabby tom spoke to her, she was nearly scared out of her fur as she yowled and spun around. In her wake she left a tornado of flower petals, which floated down around her. Quite a few stuck to her fur, and the tom never forgot their encounter, often looking back on it with a smile.

The night was thick and dark, and he had been waiting by the border for hours already for a patrol to stop by. He'd been fairly interested in joining a Clan, after all. They had so many strange customs - especially that one about names, right? He'd had enough time while he waited here. He knew the name he wanted.
. Dusk, of course, would be the first part. That strange time, stuck between night and day, was always his favorite, and how could he not name himself after that? It was simply perfect.
. It was the second part that took him longer to figure out. He pondered a great many things, but eventually settled on dreamer. Why? It sounded ethereal, beautiful, and besides, he'd always been the one to daydream. To think up ridiculous new ideas. Yes, Duskdreamer fit quite well.
. As he waited by the border, he wondered what these Clanners would think of his new name.

Prompt: When Pigeonrunner had first been born, her parents had decided that they wanted all their kits to have bird related names - and thus, when they arrived, her parents did such. She was born into a litter of four with three brothers, called Thrushkit, Hawkkit and Finchkit. But her parents were stuck on her name, as her pelt wasn't brown like Hawkkit's or Thrushkit's, and she certainly wasn't orange like Finchkit. It was her mother, Swiftstream, who named her - Pigeonkit, for her incredibly light coloured fur, lighter than the rest of her littermates, and to represent such a pretty, wonderful bird.

Pigeonpaw wasn't the competitive type, lagging behind as her brothers held races together, or attempted to see who could catch the most prey or climb the highest tree. As such, when the four and their mentors were on a hunting patrol, the toms clumsily scared away prey, hard to find in leaf-bare. Scolded for the fact they were almost old enough to be warriors, Pigeonpaw ignored them and gazed around, eyes landing on two squirrels nearby, taking a drink. Before anyone noticed, she darted at them, and before realising, they were already caught. She got 'runner' due to her speed.

Prompt: petrifiedshadow got her prefix because of her pale stripped pelt. Her mother once saw an old petrified white ash tree and even in its death saw beauty. And so when she saw her daughters pelt she decided to name her petrifiedkit. Though it didn’t help that the little she cat was quite the trouble kit when being born, almost as if she were afraid to join this world.
Her suffix shadow comes from her ability to move almost unseen in the grayish dull mountains, especially when it is early leaf bare and the once bright surroundings turn grey and dull.

silk;; [100/100] with a heavy heart and tired eyes, Silky, a shy she-cat had left the embrace of her kitty-pet owners. the only thing she kept from her former family was the name. she had been given to the little girl as a Christmas gift, a small bow on her head. She had been so excited to play with her human, but the girl wasn't very interested in cats. In fact, turns out the little girl was allergic to cats. the girl hugged her, named her silky, and then was sent to the E.R. She left soon after, to protect the girl.

She had been running for a while, and although she was tired out of her mind she knew that she needed to stay alert and aware of her surroundings. Cattlestar had come out of the grass and coughed to get the attention of Silky. Silky screamed, loudly alerting anything within hearing distance where she was, and jumped three feet into the air. After the two were safely located in Cattlestars home camp, they joked about how high she had leaped.

When Silverstrike's mother entered the Clan, she was already pregnant and seemed quite ill. Within a few days, she had started her rough birth. Silverstrike was born as the only surviving kit, and even her mother did not survive the ordeal. Her mother didn't even have a chance to name her before passing, and so Maplestar named the kit for her. He spoke to the body of her mother, and said "I will name her Silverkit, in recognition of her beautiful coat. I hope you can see how beautifully it shines here in the moonlight, from wherever you are."

Bearing her name proudly, Silverkit eventually became Silverpaw. Her coat never lost its luster, and she quickly became known for a second trait as well. She was proficient at such blindingly fast attacks that her paws became naught but a shining blur. She used this tactic well, and learned to strike birds and other prey from the air with ease. Her attacks didn't have much strength, but her speed and ferocity made up for it. She was so known for this move that Maplestar made mention of it in her warrior ceremony, earning her the name Silverstrike.

One night, as Heidi blinked away her imagined self leaping across the treetops, she realised she had been staring at another cat on the other side. They asked, "Do you think of jumping?"
Heidi hesitated before nodding.

Heidi did not hesitate the second time.
Heidi would gain her prefix for her silent willingness to join the Clan.

"Flight": Being a Clan that relied on trust, most of QuillClan was not as welcoming towards a mute cat. Hushpaw's Clanmates distanced themselves from her with the occasional conversation always involving scorning her kittypet origins or muteness, to which she accepted in silence.
Eventually, the tale of her and Quillstar's first encounter rippled through the Clan and some began ridiculing her inability to jump and speak. This was no different from all their mockery from before, but somehow it hurt more.
She began pushing herself in training, hunting and loyalty. Her tree jumping skills grew so adept she looked as if she soared through the leaves. She did not receive her suffix from this, but rather for her rising from her past to become the loyal Clan cat she is now.
