A lonely Prince
Spent many years
Searching for True Love
A sigh he gave
A thought most grave
Addressed the stars above
"No Prince is true
Without a Queen!"
Was his most forlorn cry
"So as there is no Love for me
No longer Prince am I!"
Weeping softly through the night
He wandered
So alone
"Where does a man
Once was a Prince
Have for to make a home?"
He thought back to his childhood
A friend he once had
had
"There I will not be turned away"
The thought made not him glad
For many long and weary nights
He sought his memories
And came at last
Upon the palace
Braced against the Seas
He stumbled to the Plainwood gate
And there was his intent
To beg upon the grace
Of his abandoned childhood friend
He knocked upon the gate so weakly
Surely no one knew
Yet there was one who had been list'ning
For guests long overdue
She drew him in
Into her warmth
Into her sweet embrace
"How I've missed you!"
She declared
"And longed to see your face!"
She wiped his tears gently away
"Surely those don't belong?"
And suddenly it dawned on him
"Forgive me! I was wrong!"
"I thought if I could find a Queen
To be the music to my song...
So blind was I
To not realize
My Love was a Princess all along!"
(It's rough. Barely acceptable. May make adjustments/edit/re-write.)
