A Luxiat is an owl-like dragon, carrying features of both species. They're naturally compassionate creatures, ranging in size from around the size of a boxer to the size of a german shepherd. Partially domesticated, they're not always kept as pets, but it's not uncommon for them to find a happy home in the hands of skilled owners!

story the stars were interesting objects, especially how many tended to personify them. often, calysto herself would find herself looking up at the stars each night, her desire to see them up close and her interest in what secrets the ancient, glowing being held inside them, compelling her to seek them out in the night and watch.

not physically, but in her dreams, she could touch space itself. she wanted nothing more than to reach the stars, and in her dreams, anything was possible. yet her dreams were so immersive, so life-like, she became lost in them. she forgot when she was awake and when she was dreaming, absorbed in her own fairytale of living among the stars in the galaxy, studying them and learning so much from even a few moments to study them.

her life underwent a dramatic change - she no longer cared for real life or any of what it contained, its people... when she had the stars to keep her company instead.

she went out to look at the stars when she felt alone.

though maia knew there was no magic in those stars that would truly draw her towards companionship or anything, it was simply a way to forget. looking up at the dark of the night sky... it made her forget herself. she, here on this earth, was so small compared to the universe. the world beyond her own was so vast, and yet... so empty.

each one of those twinkling lights in the indigo sky was millions of miles and years away. for all she knew, they were already gone-

and as she thought of all those stars blinking out, the sky felt even lonelier.

sitting there, on that hill, with nothing but green around her and purple above her, was still calming. in the grand scheme of the universe, wasn't everyone alone? the chances of meeting someone just like you, with just this small amount of people over that imperceptibly huge amount of space, was certainly zero. so why bother worrying about it?

and when she fell asleep below that sky, she realized just how much more she should cherish the ones close to her, even when they weren't by her side.
