Caprovis are sheep-like omnivores within the canidae
family. Typically their size ranges from that of a fully
mature miniature sheep and a fully mature male lion
(18' - 4"). While their fur appears closer in texture to
the wool of a sheep, caprovis are much more closely
related to foxes - and it is often speculated that thei
r fur was developed not only to combat dropping tem
peratures in their environment but also as a way to a
ppear less intimidating to their prey. Generally speak
ing, a caprovi's diet consists of fruits, berries, small
mammals, birds, fish, and many different invertebra
tes. Caprovis will tend to lean to the more carnivoro
us side; though they are overall scavengers so whate
ver they find, they eat. They possess incredibly sharp
teeth to help them with hunting if they ever have the
need, though it is rare to see one hunt as their hoove
s make it notably difficult. As a result, they have dev
eloped a way to attract small animals to them, simila
r to a capybara's calming aura. Many speculate that t
hey do this by releasing certain chemicals that invoke
feelings of comfort in these animals but it is largely
unstudied and there is no proof to back this speculati
on currently.
Caprovis have been observed in large communities an
d are notably social creatures, forming strong bonds
with other caprovi easily. Many believe this is why hig
her rates of caprovis have multiple partners, as well
as why there appears to be a very relaxed social hiera
rchy within larger groups. In fact, few have identified
any actual leaders in packs and it appears as though
most packs will function as a "team" with the "leaders
hip" role being exchanged from caprovi to caprovi oft
en. The young of the caprovi are taken in by the whol
e pack, and they a fiercly protective of their young.

e to climb in a way similar to mountain goats. They ca
nnot breath underwater and have much difficulty swi
mming so they generally avoid deeper water. Some br
eeds of caprovi are much better off in the plains than
in mountains or forests, but for the most part that is w
here they thrive. All caprovi are extremely sensitive to
harsh light, which is why they tend to do better in dar
ker, more shaded areas. As such, they are mostly noct

1. caprovis are a closed species - only staff are permitted to create adopts.
2. a caprovi can be traded, gifted, or readopted only after at least one week has passed since you received it. at this time,
caprovis cannot be sold unless they have been transferred out of the species. caprovis can only be traded for other caprovis.
cooldown for trading is 3 weeks, there is no cooldown for gifting or readopting.
3. any transfer out of species must be discussed with me (elf), and with the original artist of the adopt.
4. a caprovi's ref cannot be edited unless it is to change expression or add an accessory. the only exception is an myo being
revamped -- please contact me (elf) if you wish to revamp an myo.
5. there is currently no limit to how many caprovis any one person can own, including customs.

6. a caprovi can only be bred three times in its lifetime, but does not mate for life. the breeding partner can be different every
time. cooldown lasts for 2 weeks from the time the ticket was accepted.
