EDIT: I currently have ideas for two other species. Vote here!
ARCADILLOS are little felines with a scaly shell like that of an armadillo. They have the head shape of a cat, slightly longer and pointed ears like those of an armadillo, shorter armadillo legs, and a long cat tail. For self-defense, they can roll up like an armadillo, their soft underbellies covered by the strong plates on their back.
FELISAWKS are felines with large, feathered wings and sharp beaks. Once felisawks reach maturity (at 20 years old), there are tufts on its ears. A felisawk also gains more feathers at the end of its feline tail as it ages, so a felisawk's age is often able to be determined by the tufts on its ears, the size of its wings, and the number of feathers on its tail.

Here's a handdrawn version by me of what the species and reference might look like!
I came up with the idea of an Oekaki-based adoptable species today.
I had sugar gliders and flying squirrels on my mind while I was thinking and I always try to incorporate felines in ideas so here we are!
I made an attempt to line it. It's better and worse at the same time than I anticipated.
I'm just checking for interest before I go on and see if I can improve it... or would anyone be interested in relining this? As a lineart commission? PM me if you're interested and I can offer multiple rares and some art.
If this gets enough interest, I'm planning to make this an adoptable species.
There's no official name yet. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know c:
SPECIES INFO
Recently discovered. These creatures seem to be felines, closely resembling cats, but with translucent flaps of skin like those of sugar gliders and flying squirrels. Their tail is also thicker and flatter, similar to that of flying squirrels. The flaps that they use to glide are often used to recognize them, and each creature's flaps, which they call wings, have a unique design.
These creatures are usually friendly and have been found to be extremely intelligent, with a mind similar to humans. They pose no threat and some have been adopted as pets and companions. They're quite curious and playful and can be a little troublesome but with a little bit of training and bonding with their human owners, they can be very obedient.
In the wild, they're found in many regions and climates, though most inhabit forests, and a smaller majority, the mountains. They learn from parents and friends to be skilled climbers at a young age, and they often climb trees, mountains, or other structures. Once at a high point, they leap off to glide either down to the ground or to another structure. Their 'wings' and tail can be used to steer.
Diets are usually omnivorous. As these creatures have a high tolerance for many wild plants, most are herbivorous and are happy with some fruits, vegetables, and other plants.
These felines are often the size of a domesticated cat.
