Elysians are a foreign species that came from a dimension containing the same surroundings as ours but more colorful
and pastel-ishlike, with a constant neutral light and a more dense atmosphere to which they genetically adapted
through time and resulted to their visible breathing that is the same as the eye color. Despite being a foreign species,
their appearance is associated with that of the felines; fluffier mane, bigger ears and muzzle, but they also have
characteristics of wolves; long tail and thinner members.

home is defined as "the place where one lives
permanently, especially as a member of a family or household."
however, i beg to differ. how can home simply be a place,
when most people define home as the place they feel safe?
relaxed? i may live in my house, but my home isn't there. far
from it, in fact. my house is where i go to be smothered and
have my passions snuffed out of me.

my home is in the clearing.

down the street from my house there is a small trail, leading
down to a creek. if you follow the creek, you'll eventually stumble
upon a clearing. that clearing is full of flowers. and those flowers
are my home.

the clearing is where i ran when i was eight and i found out
my grandmother died. the clearing is where i ran when i got
my first b on a report card and hid because i felt like a failure.
the clearing is where i had my first kiss, and also where i went
to cry when he left me. the clearing is where i spent most of
my time last year, after my brother died.

the clearing, full of flowers living and dying, growing and
decaying, reminds me of the futility of it all. how meaningless
it all is. we are born, we grow, and someday, we will all die.
and somehow, knowing that, makes me feel more at peace than
anything else. the flowers, their frivolous lives, give me peace.

my house is not my home, it never will be, but the clearing is.
