Maybe you could add some texture to the eyes, like some highlights maybe? (You know, the white spots that happen when light reflects? Just use the Airbrush tool and the color white over the eyes.)
Other than adding that, I really can't think of anything else. ^^ Can't wait to see your drawings once you get a tablet. (And IF you get one. I really hope you get one for Christmas!)
