Chrome was such a terror for the locals and any passers-by, one village had an idea. To appease the angry spirit.

So they left a coat for the 'Winter Spirit', as he was dubbed, in hope that he would leave them alone. That was the one and only time Chrome felt emotion other than the malicious glee of a good plot come together. He wore that coat forever after, thanking the village by leaving anyone from or with the blessings from that village alone. It's a closely guarded secret, how to get through the Winter Spirit's wood without incurring its wrath. However, rumours say that if you wear any item of clothing with a blue "x" stitched somewhere on it, you'll never be bothered by the sinister Winter Spirit that guards the forest. As for whether or not that's true, you'll just have to find out.
