Why the wooden wings/halo? (500 words max) - anakin was special. not in the way your parents or teacher say, 'oh, you're special in your own way', no, anakin was special in a different way.
-
anakin had become an orphan as an egg, when his mother died from severe frostbite. his father had died way before he was born. anakin had remembered one soft cooing from his mother before she died; "anakin, my sweet, someday you'll be able to travel the work on wooden wings,". and that's just what he did.
-
with no mother to help him along, anakin had sat in the middle of the snowy forest, wailing, confused about where his mother was, and when she would be coming back. he knew he had a mother, because of what she said to him. a flowery viscet had come along later that day, and taken him in. he had fed anakin, and told him how to survive. he also gave anakin his twig halo and wooden wings. anakin now knew what to do; he was going to do what his mother told him to do. travel the world on wooden wings.
-
the world ended up being bigger than anakin had thought. huge cliff walls and rivers had blocked his path. he got frustrated over time, and eventually gave up. a winged viscet ended up crashing near a cliff wall, near anakin, and naturally anakin rushed to help. the newcomer was confused on why anakin had his twig wings and halo, and anakin told her everything. anakin brought her to his brother figure, and told him that she had crashed near the cliff wall that was holding them in from the outside world.
-
one year later, anakin was still small, but the winged viscet had woven some feathers into his wings, and he had learned how to fly somewhat. he had made a settlement just inside the cliff walls, and had started work on tunneling through the cliff wall. he truly wanted to help other viscets, and this was just the beginning.
-
the halo is extremely special to anakin, because it reminds him of what he is working for; the life of dead and alive viscets. the wings are special because they helped him walk his world; which is what his deceased mother told him to do.
