So I'm not really a big reader and honestly haven't read all that many books in my life. However, Call of the Wild is one of the few I actually have. I read it a long time ago now so I had to read a summary to recall a bit more about the story and what not, but this is inspired by the main character and view point of the book, Buck. Buck is a saint bernard and scotch shepherd who endures a lot of hard ships including being kidnapped, put into dogfights, used as a sled dog (and bullied by the led dog) and several other things before he embraces the wildness and ends up running free with a wolf pack. From my recollection it was a good book and very interesting. So this adopt is made after the breed mix that Buck was and a sort of snowy forest scene given the main location in the book. (And a scotch shepherd isn't really a well recognized breed anymore, but essentially they are less showy rough collies).

So for this competition I want you to tell me about a hardship or hardships this viscet has endured. There will be opportunities for extras and what not, so no worries. c:

Hardship #1:

It all began when his mother met a Viscet which she liked. His parents split, so he lived with his mother. She was always looking for someone else, because she felt empty and sad without someone special to love. The Viscet's name was Vex. Vex seemed nice at times, especially to Mo's mother. But, Mo suspected something about Vex. He just didn't seem right. But, Mo's mother didn't seem to notice. Which, bothered Mo because she never seemed to see the occasional unfriendly wink, or the smile Vex would give Mo. Mo could see that the smile was fake and the wink meant bad news.

It wouldn't have been such a problem for Mo, if Vex didn't keep destroying everything! Mo would just sit down harmlessly on his bed, and the next thing he knew, he could hear a loud bang and the sound of glass shattering. Mo ran over to see what was going on, to see that Vex tipped over his mom's favorite glass vase with his mom's favorite flowers. He could just feel the sadness his mom was going to feel to discover this. "Oopsies!" Vex laughed, like he did it on purpose. "That was mom's favorite!" Mo shouted. He didn't mean to say that out loud, he was just so upset. Vex turned to look at Mo, like someone just insulted him, and he replied, "Oh, sure! Now what is she going to think when she finds out you broke her favorite vase, and dumped out her flowers?" Mo was horrified, Vex couldn't blame him for something he didn't do! "But, I didn't do it!" Mo whined, which would seem even less convincing that he actually did not do it. "Like she is going to believe you!" Vex walked away, feeling quite proud of himself.

When Mo's mother came home, she seemed pretty happy. But, it all changed when she saw the vase, and the dumped out flowers. She was so upset, she looked like she was holding back tears. Mo didn't know why, but she was so attached to that vase. "Who did this?" She asked, sounding mad and sad at the same time. Before Mo could reply, Vex said, "Mo did it, he said that he was tired of looking at, and i quote, that ugly vase, and those hideous flowers." Mo felt humiliated, "I did not do it! Vex is a liar!" Mo's mother looked hurt, "You how much I love that vase, why would you do that? Also, you should never talk about your father like that!" Mo ran away to his room, feeling betrayed. That kind of thing would happen all the time. Vex would blame Mo for everything, and Mo's mother would believe it. It got so bad to where Mo decided to run away.

Hardship #2:

After Mo ran away, he walked around, in search of a good hotel. He stole some money, and some food. That's all he had on the long journey. He finally found a hotel, it didn't seem too nice, but it was good enough. He fell asleep, which surprised Mo because he had so much on his mind. When he woke up, he felt really hot, like he was in a tight space. Mo was slightly claustrophobic. He opened his eyes because he wanted to go turn the AC on. When he opened his eyes, it was the same as it was with his eyes closed, pitch black. It must have been really late in the night for it to be so dark, definitely not morning.

He tried to get out of his bed, but he couldn't. He was confused, but then, he saw light shining through his room. He knew what was going on. He was kidnapped, and the Viscet who captured him opened the bag he with captured in. The next thing he knew he was tied up, his paws behind his back. "Bern, I have you now." the Viscet told Mo. Mo was confused. Who was Bern? Mo was so scared, his throat became dry, and his voice was hoarse. "Who's Bern?" Mo asked. He was quite brave.

The Viscet looked at Mo like he was stupid. "Stop playing around. Now that I've got you, you will have to let my daughter go." What daughter? "And if you don't, you will die." With that, the Viscet left Mo in the room all by himself. Mo was scared he was going to die, because he didn't have that strange Viscet's daughter. But then, Mo thought of a genius plan. He used to go to a spy camp that taught him about being a spy. One of the things they taught him was if you were caught, you could use your teeth to get out of your tied mess. He bit through his "paw-cuffs", attempting at breaking through. Once he successfully got his paws free, he used his paws to get his legs.

When he finally managed to get out of that horrible house, he knew he had to go back home. His mother was probably worried sick about him, but he didn't want to go back to Vex. He didn't have any choice, though. Everything happened so fast, he didn't really have time to think about what he was doing, he was starting to really regret leaving home. So, he went back the way he came. It wasn't too far though. When he got home, his mother had mixed emotions. His mother was sad and worried, and angry at him for leaving. He couldn't bear to tell her the truth, so he just told her he got lost. Vex didn't look to happy to see him, though. But in the end, Mo was happy to be back home, because no where in the world was better than his home. Vex might be mean, but he knew he could get through it in the end.

I've read Call of the Wild!<3 I read it around three maybe four years ago, so I don't remember much of it either, but I do remember that is was an excellent book.

I have lord knows how many copies of this book ( including a first addition) this and White Fang are my two favourite books by Jack London.
The design is amazing Mint wonderful job.
