Strudel had always been a shy dog after she was mauled by a coyote. She was very skittish, and easily spooked. She wasn't afraid to snap at someone who got too close, or even tried to pet her. Which is why she wasn't adopted. She knew she'd be here her whole life if she continued this personality. From being aggressive to the sweetest little munchkin, everyone wanted her. She felt loved, and it felt good. Once she was adopted by a kind woman with two children, Strudel knew she had to move on. Her destiny was to be an "Angel dog", her destiny was to cheer people up. She had left her loving owners, to find another family who needed love. After a few years of doing this, she decided to find a permanent home. Her mission was complete. Now she's looking for a forever home.

What's Interesting?:

Something interesting about this tiny pup is where she was found. Cavachons are a designer breed and are extremely sociable and family oriented dogs, so it was a surprise to find her in the middle of forest alone. Not only that but the poor thing had her tail painfully caught in some type of trap, probably illegally put there for foxes. It was thought that Dookie must of escaped or had gotten loose from her lead chasing after a small woodland creature, like a squirrel or mouse, and while she was chasing it she got herself caught in an illegal trap. Luckily, for her a team of rescuers picked her up and took her to a veterinary clinic. Part of her tail had to be amputated as it had become severely infected, thus why this little one has a docked tail. Luckily, the infection hadn't spread dramatically. Dookie was then partnered up with her kennel buddy, Flynn. As a cavachon she doesn't do to well on her own for long periods of time, and with not knowing how quickly her owners or a new owner would be found, it was best to partner her up. Rescuers tried to find the pups owners but she had no microchip or collar and no one came forward. Thus she was put up for adoption.

What's Interesting?: Danuta was thrown away just like most animals that show up to these shelters. The shelter employee told me the terrible background of this poor small dog. She was used as a bait dog in dog fighting. Her body has small scars all around under her short fluffy fur. Many workers and people who rescued her say they have no idea how she survived, but she did. But what is interesting is how Danuta can give the people around her so much love and be excited to see people who give her love back, despite the abuse and torture she went through. Danuta is a fighter, and also a lover.
