What was their previous home like?: It was the entirety of the ocean! Full of life, but also a bit scary.
Other: They're made of water! One day some parts of the ocean, by random chance, sprouted to create skelkie! They're pretty new to this whole "land" thing, and they can turn into a full on liquid, walk on water, and jump very high! Nobody really knows what their eyes are made of, but they're very jellylike.
