Kraken has worked with her mother at an Aquarium ever since she was a little dragon. She would always play and lure the tropical fish with a bright light so she could play with it whenever she was bored and had nothing else to do. But she would normally get in trouble by scaring the fish and breaking the rule by "tapping on the glass". Ignoring the discipline and troubles, she continued to do so anyway.
However, the following month the Aquarium that her mother worked at, rescued a Giant Squid that had washed up near shore near the Aquarium's location. Kraken was excited to see what all the rave was about when she heard the screams of visitors seeing such a monstrous beast. But the other workers had to keep her back so she didn't get hurt or even worse.
But that didn't keep her from saving the beast. How you may ask?
Well one night as she was sneaking over to the Betta fish tank with a flashlight in her jaws, she overheard a worker saying that they were going to put the architeuthis down or they were going to get rid of it by harpooning it. Kraken, obviously disturbed by this, rushed towards the enclosure to see if the rescued critter was still there. And it was.
The dragon sat near the enclosure to keep guard overnight. She was going to stay up, no matter how long it took.

As the morning sun began to rise, she noticed that something wasn't right. She kept watch over the beast all night, watching in astonishment on how such a fantastic beast could be so scary. But what she noticed was the pattern in the squid's movement. Although she couldn't see clearly on what was making this critter move so weirdly. So she climbed the ladder, towards the top of the tank and grabbed the scuba gear. Kraken quickly put it on before diving in and swimming towards the bottom where she had last seen it.
Her mother and a couple of workers saw this and rushed to the scene, screaming out Kraken's name, banging on the glass to get her attention. But this caused the squid to turn irritated and upset by the workers, that it wrapped its tentacles around the young dragon threateningly. This caused her to panic and tried to scream out until she noticed a broken spear lodged in the squid's eye. This was brought to her attention to try to free herself and get to the spear to pull it out. But it wasn't working.
Kraken was stuck, until she bit the tentacle hard enough for the quid to release her. She quickly apologized before swimming towards the eye of the squid. The hard part was the fact that the girl was trying to get the foreign object out while dodging various attacks from the tentacles. This however wasn't it. Ink squirted towards the mask, blocking her sight as she finally got the spear out.
This calmed the squid down, other than it grabbing her again and it holding it close by it. At this moment, Kraken couldn't breathe nor see due to the blood, ink and the bone-crushing grasp of the squid. She struggled to get out of the grasp of the squid, but it wouldn't work due to the lack of oxygen, in which she made the rookie mistake of forgetting the oxygen tank before she went down there. Before the young dragon could pass out, the squid rushed towards the top and nearly threw her out when they surfaced.
The squid laid Kraken down on the deck before retreating towards its cave.

Later that day, Kraken had woken up by the smell of the salty water that clung to her fur. Her eyes twitched as she remembered the workers, the giant squid, and her screeching mother. The young ling got up and rushed to the enclosure to see that huge crowd of people were surrounding the tank, smiling and not screaming. She looked up to see if there were any cranes or anything in the distance. There was no such thing in sight... Then why was the crow.. She gasped as she saw a tentacle press against the glass and moved from it. Kraken grinned ear to ear when she darted towards the tank, happy to see the squid still there. But she still wanted in explanation. "Ah, there's my little squid saver!" her mother called out behind her. Kraken grunted when her mom pulled her into a hug. "Ma, what's going on, I thought they were going to get rid of Colossal.." the girl muttered as she smiled up at the giant squid. "Colossal..?"
"Its the name I given the squid.." Kraken said with a slight grin.
"Oh. Well, we were planning too, but it seems that you made a friend while down there.. So why not let you keep it?" she said with a slight smile. Kraken grinned some and thanked her mom before waving at Colossal.

As of today, Kraken is now older, and runs the Aquarium with Colossal the giant squid.
