I know I can hear it ticking...Why can't she?
Since Syeira's person wouldn't listen, Syeira decided if she sat and watched it maybe her person would finally get the hint...so far no luck.
"Do you need out Syeira?" Her person said as she put down her little black thing. "Why are you acting so odd, huh?" Gently rubbing her ears. Syeira never took her eyes off of the box.
Just look at it. Just once, pay attention!
She actually did need to go out. Badly. But she refused to leave until her person took the box out. Syeira didn't want it in her house.
Manuela gave up on trying to get Syeira away from the box that had arrived. It was from Andrew and she knew she shouldn't keep it, but she felt bad for him. The break up had been hard on them both. The random gifts and flowers she got from him felt normal now. At first it had scared her a bit, it felt like he just wasn't going to move on. Maybe this was just his way of dealing with it....
"Might as well open it, I guess." Manuela started to pick up the package but Syeira panicked. She snatched the box from her person's hands and ran. The back door was still open and if she ran hard enough she could push the gate open...but then what? Where would she go?
It doesn't matter where I go. I just need to get this thing out of here...
"Syeira! No! Bad girl!! Get back here! Syeira!!!" Manuela tried to catch her before she made it out of the gate but failed. Bewildered, Manuela could do nothing but watch as Syeira ran down the street and around the corner. In the four years of Syeira's life she had never acted this way. Manuela thought she knew her better then that.
Finally realizing she need to do something, Manuela ran in the house and grabbed her cell phone, keys and a flashlight just in case. It was getting close to sundown.
"Please," Manuela prayed aloud, "please, just let me find her before dark."
