biggest fear: This girl is so afraid of lightning. She can't be left alone when there's a lightning storm. She collapses in her stall and shakes viciously and cries out when there's lightning. We think she must have lost someone dear to her during a lightning storm or got hurt during a lightning storm. Since she's afraid of lightning, she also does not like flash photography so at shows we have a no pictures policy. I try to make sure that shes secure in her stall with one of my workers or me when there's a lightning storm. If we can, we try to block out the light when there are lightning storms so she can't see the flashes of lightning. This helps her. We also try to make sure she has a companion like one of my dogs to calm her. And, we put a form fitting blanket around her to give her that warm and comforting feeling of a hug. Luckily she does not rear or buck when there's a lightning storm. She curls up in a ball and shakes.
