Kitsunemimi (I don't know if that's the word, it might be Kemonomimi) [It's a humanoid with fox ears, and in a lot of cases a fox tail, and I'm pretty sure some can turn into actual foxes]

If you could do the fox form, that'd be amazing, but you don't have to. You can just do the humanoid form, if ya like

Short story:
The young fox huffed as it rushed through the forest, searching around for its friends and family. Whining softly, the beautiful creature could not find them, and began to feel lonely. They had lived for many, many years, but this did not mean they did not get lonely. I mean, with that many years of life, having your family or friends around is the only way for a creature like this to keep the loneliness at bay. Deciding to take their human form, the gray, rusty ginger, and white animal did just that, wandering towards human territory...

So, it's not very long...But still
