Tiger's EyeRoman's favorite stone would have to be one known as Tiger's eye. On one of his wanderings, Roman came across a small stream that cut through the thick forest. Staring into the water with his deep brown eyes, he allowed his mind to wander with wonder in whimsical daydreams. The sun shone brilliantly through the thick canopy above him, allowing it to bounce off of the slow moving current that flow through the shallow bank. Something below the rippling surface caught his keen eye, causing his dainty head to tilt as he came back to the present, what was this that shimmered?
As he lowered his head to stare intently into the shallow depths, his upper lip began to wiggle, curious about the temperature of the water. Roman allowed his lip to graze the top of the water as he continued to stare at the shimmering thing. It was a stone of some sort, a soft honey color that was broken by stripes of darker brown similar to that of Brindle that was upon his grandfather's coat. Oh how he loved that old Dik Dik, his cooky antics and playful nature made his younger ages fantastic. Pulling his head away from the water, a shimmer by his hoof caught his eyes. It was the stone! The same as in the stream but slightly smaller. Leaning down, he kicked at the rock to expose its underside, examining the broken brown and honey colors with slight hints of red along the outside. It wasn't nearly as shiny as the polished one that sat at the bottom of the stream but it was still magnificent.
Tilting his head, he saw how the colors nearly moved and slithered along its form, causing wonder to once more creep into his eyes. Looking around, he saw many more stones like this one. Leaning down once more, he took the stone between his teeth and picked it up. He had to show it to his grandfather, knowing that his time was coming to an end and he would soon no longer be with Roman. This thought brought sadness yet he resisted, knowing this rock would bring a small amount of joy to his grandfather once more.
