This is a really cool idea. What you might want to try for markings is creating a new layer and doing the markings there, like paint. Examples of this include this adopt, with paint on the outside and this adopt, with paint on the inside.

Other than that, I like the entry - although the boba seems pretty big.

Ah, I had intended for the markings to be subtle, so I purposefully drew them on the shell itself.

And I'm completely aware the boba are really big, I was going for the extra big boba mutation!
