⟹ music
ㅤa pretty obvious one. she's always loved music, no matter what the genre was. radio problems? non-existent. she doesnt discriminate. she has her biases, of course, most people do, but she's open to just about any song out there. yes, even classical. (dont tell anyone, but she secretly likes it a lot. her parents were pretty big on classical; might be why she likes it so much.)
⟹ arachnids, specifically spiders
ㅤspiders are the bomb dot com in natalie's world. her precious babies Beatrice and Bue are the lights of her life, and if harm would ever come to them she would definitely find out who the culprit was immediately and teach them a thing or two. spiders have always been of great interest to her, ever since she saw a giant tarantula (among others) at a friend of her father's house. if someone was about to kill one of her eight-legged friends, she would be the first one there to talk them out of it and release the poor thing back to the outside. tl;dr? dont get in the way of natalie and her spiders.
⟹ photography
ㅤphotography has also pretty much always been an interest for her. her mother used to take photos all the time to preserve the memories of her childhood, and natalie took after her mother in that respect; if there's a neat photo to be taken, rest assured, she'll whip out her camera and snap a quick one.
⟹ tea
ㅤcall her hoity toity or sterotypical all you want, but natalie loves her tea. her favorite is chamomile, but she's open to just about any kind out there. she picked up the habit from her father and has carried it with her even to adulthood.
⟹ pixel graphics
ㅤkind of an odd one, but how she came to like is odd too, so it evens out. a good friend of hers had showed her some early pixel art, and she took an immediate interest in them. often in her spare time, she'll design small pixels or create animated ones for her classes.
⟹ retro games
ㅤher obsession with retro games originated in her childhood, when both her parents were quite big on them themselves. natalie was a little spoiled in that regard; she was used to all kinds of video games and the like strewn about the house, just waiting to be played.

⟹ road trips
ㅤroad trips are almost certainly the bane of natalie's existence. she's never really liked them, seeing as as a kid, she would always get carsick, but especially as an adult; the feeling of controlling a hunk of metal that weighed more than her by at least tenfold for miles and miles terrifies her.
⟹ elevators
ㅤafter a gore-heavy episode featuring elevators she saw on television, she never quite looked at the contraptions the same way. a childish and rather irrational fear, but none-the-less, a major fear. she refuses to take elevators if she can avoid it, even climbing several flights of stairs just to get from floor to floor in buildings.
⟹ tornadoes
ㅤpretty simple and clean explanation; she's had her fair share of tornadoes, but sometimes they hit a little to close to home. on several occasions in her early childhood tornadoes had come dangerously close to her house; she never quite shook the fear, even when she's hundreds of miles away from her old home.
⟹ caterpillars
ㅤas much as natalie loves her creepy crawlies, there is one she absolutely cannot stand; caterpillars. they've always crept her out, and she's seen firsthand the horrors of those menaces. there used to be a big tree in her backyard in her first house, but one year caterpillars had got up in it and turned to poor tree into a web of disaster. ever since, she hasnt trusted the little buggers, and she has no plans to change her mind anytime soon.
⟹ "fancy"/"expensive" things
ㅤdespite her background, natalie actually hates most of the "top dollar goods" she sees in magazines and online and has made a vow never to purchase anything of the sort unless absolutely necessary (such as for school). this doesnt mean she'd tell others to stop buying them though; she just doesnt see the point when there are plenty of cheaper alternatives that work just as well and look the same, if not better.
⟹ the ocean
ㅤher fear of the ocean stems from an event in her teens. a trip to the beach gone wrong, specifically. after nearly drowning and then having to be picked up and drove home by her parents, suffice to say that day was both an embarrassing and traumatic one for her. since then, natalie has refused go get in any water that she cant see her feet in, and even then she's hesitant to do so out of fear.

Personality;;
-sarcastic. sarcastic might as well be natalie's name with how many times she's been called that. not ashamed to identify with the label, natalie agrees she does have a good amount of sarcasm up her sleeve. although usually reserved for those who've earned her ire or when she's having a bad day, she's known to lash out at unsuspecting people. it isnt something she's proud of, but she's doing her best to shift her aggression elsewhere.
-ambitious. with great knowledge comes a hungry ambition to go along with it, and for natalie, this statement holds true. no matter the task, her ambition is the primary driving force that urges her to finish (other than being a completionist). her ambition, some might say, is one of her worst traits, however natalie prides herself in that regard. however, she knows not to get too caught up in it.
-composed. there is scarce a situation where natalie wont be cool as a cucumber. even in intense or otherwise concerning situations, natalie manages to keep a cool head and think rationally about things. this lax attitude can come in handy a lot of the time, although she has a habit of seeming apathetic to others.
-humble. for all she might brag about her skill and brains, natalie is of the opinion that modesty is one of the best policies. when it comes down to actual accomplishments, she tends to downplay or outright ignore them in favor of pretending her accomplishments dont exist. to her, they feel like purely status symbols, and contrary to what others may think, she hates feeling like she's above the rest.
-honest. some might say her natalie is a little too honest. of course, she knows a little white lie or two never hurt anyone, and lying to protect yourself isnt bad either, but in her mind, honesty would get her further than lying ever would. despite this mindset though, she very rarely, if ever, scolds anyone for lying unless they've lied to her specifically, and often times she's not as mad as she makes herself out to be.
