Draw in layers and put your outline at the top layer. After you are done shading, turn that layer off so the you can no longer see the outline. Then you can move back and forth with the out line and your shading so that when you are finished, you can remove the out line (turn it off) and your picture looks more natural, like a photograph. I have really experimented with the layering and that seems to work best for me. I will start a thread this week on helpful hints for every artist to post on. I just have to figure out what forum it would best fit on.
