Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. Two fluffy snow dogs! These two were from separate competitive sled teams, one a middle dog whilst the other was a lead. We set them in a temporary kennel together as the Samoyed already was set for a home. For some reason, the husky seemed to be... gloating?, (Ya' know, in a dog way) and pranced around in a proud manner. We aren't sure why he does this...

Why do they "gloat"?:
What is there not to gloat about? Look at that fur? Looks at those eyes? Look at those strong leg muscles who wouldn't want to swoon over those bad boys? Not to mention his perfect linage of sled dogs whom won metals and the fact that he has yet lost ONE race! He can't help but throw himself around and gloat about it! He wants everyone to love him! I mean look how fluffy his tail is?! Who wouldn't want that?

Now even though he gloats and gets jealous at times of others he is a good dog. He actually is a little lonely since he was trained all alone up in the mountains for some time and doesn't know how to communicate with others so he believes that if he gloats about himself maybe people would be interested in him. Yeah he races with other dogs but he is always placed in new sled teams because his previous owner liked to use him for money and people would pay for a top sled dog like that one their team for a race so he never had a best friend before. This is why he gloats, for attention from others.

Why do they gloat?:
Larry gloats because he feels it's a way for him to feel good about himself. He usually always sees other dogs in the pound making fun of him, so he insists to gloat because it gives him comfort. It's like his little safe way, like he's complementing himself each time he gloats. Others don't seem to like it, but he thinks if they don't like it, and he does, it's fine because usually they don't say anything to him. It's basically just his way to sooth his hurt-ness from other dogs making fun of him, and for him to be more close to himself.

Steel is gloating because he hates collars and being tied down by anything. He is gloating at poor Charlotte because he thinks he isn't going to a home, he's going to be free... He's going to be a wild dog! Steel likes to act tough and gloat about as if to boost his already large ego. This brings dismay to others and makes him gloat further. Well, he's going to be in for a pretty big surprise when he finds out he's going to home. But he'll soon learn to love it and then gloat about something all over again.

Why do they "gloat"?: they may have grown up in the cold, but Bearsly was and is still Hot. I mean, look at those strong muscular legs, that strong jaw, those icy, coal black eyes, those sharp, white teeth, those sharpened to the point claws, that amazing pointed noise. His last owner put him at the head of the sled for a reason, cause he was the leader, the best, he diserved the best! He diserves the best now! How dare you put him in a cennal with a lower level sled dog, he diserves his own home, his own crown, the best that you can offer him. And that's what I'll do, pamper this prince but still teach him politeness.
He is the most beautiful, best, most amazing sled dog this world has ever seen! His neck has so many first place ribbons on it, any normal sled dog wouldn't be able to handle the weight. That, is why Bearsly gloats.
