CherryClan has just settled into its new home, thanks to Lavenderpaw, Roseface, Blackfur, Acornpaw, and Fireclaw. At the moment, Cherrystar observes her Clan from the Longstone while her deputy and brother, Birchclaw, is below her and looking up. Beewhisker is with her kits, Chubkit and Swallowkit, who are due for an apprentice ceremony any day now. Brownpaw is with her mentor, Pikepelt, learning the names of various herbs while Gingerstorm watches them. Over at the small fresh-kill pile, Plumclaw and Roseface are just back from a hunting patrol while Blackfur watches Roseface shyly, wondering if he should speak to her. Rainfang and her mate, Goldenwhisker, are chatting while Hazelflower sleeps, tired from watching the kits. Mistfur and Nightwhisker are whispering to each other excitedly wondering when they'll be able to head patrols. Finally, Acornpaw sits quietly while Lavenderpaw sneaks up on him. Everyone else is out either marking the borders or on a hunting patrol.
CherryClan is the first of my three primary fanclans set in Lake Tahoe. This scene takes place between Story 1 ("The Beginning of a Legend") and Story 2 ("A Troubled Path") as the cats are settling into a home where they are guaranteed food and safety.
