A couple weeks ago, one of our class pets, Chippy, got out of his cage and into one of the ferret's. Since the ferrets are bred to kill vermin, no one can blame him, but we'll miss our adorable little chipmunk.
Rest in peace, Chippy. May there be plenty of seeds where you are.
