Sparrowpaw and Greypaw's eyes flick back and forth between the apprentice and the tom. "Should we do something?" Greypaw whispers.
Sparrowpaw's eyes widen like an owl's. He stands motionless at the killer's confession to Rainpaw. Greypaw drags him away from the killer by his scruff. "I don't trust anything about him." Greypaw mumbles. "He tried to kill Rainpaw once. He'll probably try it again. Who knows? Maybe he'll think /you're/ Rainpaw next time. Be careful."
Maplepaw springs back, terrified. She wants to help her mentor, but doesn't know how. Greypaw runs up beside her. "It's not safe," he says, "come over here." She nods, and the two move away to where the apprentices are gathered and hiding.
"You were awesome!" The slate coloured apprentice exclaims.
"I was?" Sparrowpaw questions.
Greypaw nods. "You were so brave! You rushed right in there!" He thinks for a moment. "Wait, did you get hurt?"
"Only a little". Sparrowpaw reassures his friend. "Talonstar did most of the fighting."
Greypine paces back and forth, pondering Ravensnow's words. "What do you mean you want to leave?" He asks, his tail flicking wildly. He struggles to keep his voice at a whisper.

Greypine takes a deep breath, calming down. "No, I want you to be happy." He starts, looking over at her. "You love him, I get it. I just want to make sure you know what you're doing." He sighs, looking down at the ground where he fidgets with a piece of heather. "You'll be leaving your family. Your home. Everything you've ever known." He turns to face his sister. "Are you sure he's worth it? Because, as long as you're really sure, then I'm fine with it." He states, resigned.
Greypine follows after his sister, glancing back longingly at the moor. He heads into the woods, feeling enclosed by the trees around him. His whiskers twitch as he sees that cat that his sister has chosen as a mate. Sparrowpaw introduced him to me. He thinks, recalling the start of the gathering. I wonder if Sparrowpaw has gotten his warrior name yet.
