Originating from the dogs kept by early american settlers. They were breed to hunt and thus have a very strong drive to do so. They are typically used to hunt rodents and other small animals. They are a versatile breed and are suitable for most any climate. They are great with children and a generally an extremely friendly and affectionate breed.
