__________Beyond the realms of man and tech exists the home of the great briar, Hvaljamyr, that overflows its caldera in a twisting mass of wooden roots and colossal thorns. The whole of this place is greatened tenfold by the elevated scarps created by Hvaljamyr's arched roots; any area where the roots overlap ages into an entirely new platform, coated in sediment 'floors' large enough to grow whole trees within them. What mobile creatures live in this region are altered by it so much as to scarcely be recognizable as the species they once were - anything that doesn't adapt to climb or fly here doesn't last very long.
__________One of the most common creatures of the caldera is the 'mantled stag', an ungulate that is equally quick on flat land as it is leaping yards above solid ground between the briar's roots and scarps. Mantled stags are rarely territorial and would soonest feed themselves by grazing or digging at the bark of the great roots, their interest in consuming meat of any form being entirely nonexistent. Due to their considerable size and speed there are not a lot of creatures they fear and they're known to approach strange things with curiosity, merely turning it into a game should said item prove hostile. It's not unheard of for a mantled stag to mimic sounds or movements they might observe from other creatures, many of them developing their own 'dances' for their own amusement or the intimidation of other creatures. Should an item of interest become too dangerous to toy with, these equine 'stags' are known to bound away much in the manner that an actual stag might, favoring the height of the scarps for retreat.

I'm quitting Chickensmoothie as of May 2018 so I won't be able to answer any questions on this species, but please rest assured that I will not be coming after anyone for using this.
This is a 100% open species and I give anyone who cares to use it full permission to use it however they want. Onsite, offsite, drawing, adoptables, free, sales, redo the lines, tweak the lore, make your own subspecies for all I care. Whatever it is you want to do with this, go nuts. As far as I'm concerned, the stags are public domain. Have fun.
