I've been in this site for a while now, and I really wanted to start getting to know the community! :) I know many people struggle with drawing, or they think they can't draw, so I am here to try to provide you with any advice.

First of all, everyone can draw, no matter how good or bad you think you are. Scribbling on a page is art and start to something, and to some people it may seem rubbish, but it's called art. When I first began drawing digitally - I have to be honest - I hated what I drew despite posting it online. I got remarks on how bad it was, but it didn't stop me. I did research and kept a journal with all the important things which allowed me to improve. If you aim on drawing like one of your favorite artists, then go ahead and smash that goal and do anything to get to the point that you want.

I can go on forever with this, but I can't wait to hear what you want to ask. xD Just remember to keep the discussions here friendly, even if you might be against an idea. It's important to respect everyones views and questions since no one has the same perspective of art.

This is actually a common issue people might have, because I in fact struggle with drawing paws too! xD A good place to start is to go on google, pinterest,or any site containing photos/drawings that inspire you. Save the images that you like the most and practice off of them. For example, if I really liked a picture of a running wolf, I would try and copy it until I get it perfect. This is really good for memory and concentration. Don't focus on colors too much in the beginning (I recommend). Take things one step at a time, because to improve it takes time.

Observe many artists who focus on different animal anatomies, and see if they have tutorials or anything that can help you at all. Don't worry if you're not impressed in the beginning. If you have passion in drawing animals, this feeling won't matter to you.

Hello there!

I've been drawing traditionally for awhile now (approximately 4 years; longer if you count my aimless doodles from farther back) and have made great improvement in my skills. However, I as of recently have gotten into using the Oekaki to do some digital drawings and for the life of me can't draw humans well (note that I don't have a drawing tablet and must use a mouse). Do you have any advice for getting used to drawing digitally when I'm more used to traditional?

Here's something I found useful for you:

The only thing I can say is that practice is very important for everyone who begins, and that's by observing until it sticks into your memory. Sometimes when I draw paws, I totally forget the way I want it to look because the anatomy is not in my head. I would keep going back and focus on every detail.

The best amount of time to spend doing this is for about an hour if digital, and 2 hours if by hand. I did ruin my eyes a little by staring at the screen for a long time, so I always have to take 1 hour breaks.

Hello! My name is Sock, I've been drawing for the majority of my life. Lately I've been feeling a little stuck, or unhappy with my art. Do you have any tips to get past these feelings? I really love to draw but I feel like I'm just getting worse. ;n;
Thank you for any help you can provide!

When you draw traditionally, your hand is in a position where it is stable and since you've been drawing that way your hand got used to it. It will take a few months until you start to get a hang of the mouse, and you might notice that your hand will be unstable most of the time (which will make you want to go mad), but don't worry. The other option that you mentioned is a tablet, which I do highly recommend. You'll have more freedom when drawing, but that's totally up to you.

Although really, the truth of the matter is, that you'll always be better traditionally which you should be proud of. :)
