As someone who has suffered from depression, I can give you a tip or two. Simply let your friend know you are always there, no matter their mood. Do not try to cheer them up or "fix" them. Usually depression is hormonal imbalances, so it is not something that we can control without medication to correct the imbalance. Do not lash out at them if they get moody or grumpy. Asking them what is wrong over and over only makes it worse. Just be there.

I know how you feel. My really close friend is currently depressed, and it is very hard to see her go through what I went through (and still am)
I don't know if you have the same problem as I do. Because both of us have clinical depression at the moment, it is hard to not commiserate and make things worse. Just try and not bring up the subject, and be there for your friend. Knowing that someone is there with you and supports you really makes people feel better.
Also, try and get your friend to eat and sleep (at least five hours.). My friend doesn't eat three meals a day, and sometimes goes days without eating. As keen said, usually depression is caused by a hormonal imbalance. If your friend doesn't want to eat, just eat their favorite food in front if them (that usually works for me lol)
I'm sorry. I am bad at giving advice. Keen said things a lot better than I did.
I've moved to Smilus!!

your advice was great as well o3o she usually dosnt eat breakfast and school lunch, she only eats a tiny bit at home. she has told me that im the only one that listens to her cause her parents havent even noticed shes depressed. i am not depressed but it is really hard to see her crumble apart day by day.
