General Avanis Information wrote:xxxxxxxxMeet the Avanis [ā-v-an-is] or Avani [ā-v-an-ī]. Derived from the Latin words Canis and Avian, these are an incredibly smart, new breed of an owl and wolf. A natural born killer more or less. Avani are notorious for being nocturnal animals. They prefer to hunt in the night, alone or in a small group. Avani live in packs of up to 16-20 Avanis. With two alpha's at the top, leading the pack. Though for being how good they are at hunting. Chasing their prey is not their forte. Due to the fact that Avani are fairly large creatures. About a meter and a half in height and two meters in length, they are very loud when running through dense undergrowth. This being, they have adapted to be incredibly good camouflagers. Taking the route of surprise and patients rather than brute strength and agility. For all they are good at, there is even more. Avanis have the ability to control elements. Through the small little orb at the end of some of their feathers, they are able to control an element. The element a Avani controls is decided at birth and normally is passed down through genetics. You can tell what element a Avani controls by the color of the small orb. If it is Dark blue, they can control water, if it is a faded yellow, they can control light, and so forth. Though these creatures are very hostile in the wild, they make amazing companions as well. Often enough, these creatures are captured and kept as exotic 'guard dogs' so to say.
Looks wrote:Avanis are very odd looking creatures. They have large great-horned owl like beaks that tear through meat like scissors cutting thin paper and faces of a barn owl with tusks like an elephant. They also have long, retractable claws like a tiger. Near their tails and elbows, protrudes a few feathers that look a lot like ostrich feather plumes which at the end of some of the feathers, hold an element. Lastly, they have the body frame of a gray wolf. Avani are very large creatures as well. In the Avani world, females are larger than males at an outstanding height of about 3 meters [ 9 feet ], while males are 2.5 meters [ 8.2021 feet ].
Diet and Attacking wrote:The Avanis are carnivores. With lethal beaks and claws, these fearsome creatures are able to take down creatures in the dark with the power of surprise. An Avanis diet in meat and fairly wide ranged. They will eat anything that has meat, that they can get their claws on. Be it moose, mule deer, or ever a puny hare or bird. If it has meat and it's editable, they will eat it. Avani are fairly odd when it comes to hunting as well. They hunt alone or in large packs. They take the skill of surprise and twist it into something tragically memorizing. With the combination of camouflage and patients, they can have a full grown moose walk right up to them and not sense them one bit until it's too late.
Habitat and Niche wrote:Avani live in the Northern United States/Canadian Countries as well as the Asian Tundra and Alps. These strange creatures like to live in a more dense, pine tree type habitats, otherwise known as Tundras. They normally hunt in groups of 4-7 or solo. Avani live in packs up to 16-20 Avani with alphas as their leaders and females leading their packs. Avani generally mate for life but even some relationships don't work out. Even though these creatures are dangerous carnivores, they can be tamed as well. Often enough, these amazing creatures are caught to be put into zoos or are kept as exotic 'guard dogs' for rich people. Either way, Avani can be very kind creatures and often get well with kids. Small or Infant Avani are also sometimes kept as normal pets but they do indeed cost a pretty penny.
