Blinking up into the starry sky
Ears folded back
No sound reaches me
But the crickets
And cicadas
In the blossoms that surround
My fragile body
And timid spirit.
I fear not the night
But what the morning brings.
I wish to sleep forever
Never deprived of my beauty.
I do not wish to wake;
To sleep an eternity would not be a curse.
My daylight hours are horrid
Alone forever, I lie in wait
For someone to rescue me.
Torrents of sharp teeth surround me,
Snarling fills my ears at every turn.
Wincing I step back
Only to realize I have no where left to run.
I fight
But not as others do -
I am weak in body
Yet strong in spirit.
I will not give up,
No, not until I'm through.
In waking hours I have fear
Peace is never present then...
Yet I sleep tonight
To open my eyes
Once again.



So, the funny thing is - looking at her, I got the distinct impression of cherry blossoms. When I went to listen to the music, up popped the picture put to the songs: cherry blossoms. This was pure coincidence, but something I found amusing enough to share here. XD
