Their favorite adventure: Keifer’s favorite adventure was one he could easily say would never happen again. He had decided to do a little exploring outside of his usual territory and found Germany, a place where he had found out his name had come from. He decided to go into the strange land to find out more about what his name could have meant, as he had never known.
He has found a human town, but being such a shy creature, he couldn’t bring himself to enter it. He decided to try to listen from afar and see if he could understand anything. Unfortunately, from living in Britan for so long, he couldn’t understand anything anyone in the town was saying! He frowned in disappointment and padded off around the town, eyeing a mountain in the distance.
While climbing the mountain, he accidentally fell into a deep bit of snow, finding that the shiny scales on his back gave him some camouflage in the snow. He played in the snow and continued to climb cheerfully before he heard a bird cawing at him. Looking up, he saw a rather pudgy crow. “I’m going to guess zhat you don’t live around here.” The wind reaper nodded up to the bird and he started laughing. “Zhen vhy are you out here? Do you like zhe cold zhat much?”
“I live in mountains, but I came to explore.” Kiefer explained, jumping through the deep snow quickly. The crow let out a little ‘Ohhh’ and flew after him.
“Vhat did you come to Germany for?” The crow inquired curiously as he flew after the Wind Reaper.
“I came to learn about the people here, and what my name meant. I saw a town, but I got really anxious and didn’t enter.” Keifer elucidated as he finally made it out of the this snow. Shaking what snow was on his body, he started running up the mountain and using his wings to climb up the steeper parts, with the crow following closely behind him with his flight.
“Probably for zhe best. You may have gotten intimidated even vorse if you had gone into town, or scared zhe locals. Err.. Vhat is your name, by zhe way?”
“Oh, my name’s Keifer. Why? Do you recognize it?”
The crow thought for a minute or so, allowing them to make it to the top of the mountain. They could see the sun setting over the town that Kiefer had found, and the moon was beginning to rise. After a few moments, the crow eyes the markings Kiefer had on his stomach and tail. “I know now. Kiefer means Pine Tree. It vas a combination of two words, kien and forhe, and a surname turned forename.”
Keifer quickly turned his head and looked at the crown. “Seriously? That’s what it means? No wonder I have that name.” He said with a small chuckle, watching the sun duck it’s head under the horizon and give way to the night. The crow turned to him.
“Well, looks like I’ll be off, zhen.”
“What?! Already? Why’s that?” Keifer almost yelled.
“It’s too cold for me to stay in zhe mountains. I must go back down to zhe forests vhere it is varmer.” He explained. The wind reaper sighed and nodded.
“Yeah, I guess so. Goodbye..” Keifer whispered. The crow quickly flew off towards some trees in the distance. The wind Reaper decided to watch the moon rise fit just a little bit longer before beginning his long trail down the mountain.
