"Why are we meeting Ekaitz?" She asked, having come as I had asked. Her eyes searched my face for some reason, some thought, that had made me call her here. But in truth I didn't know myself. I opened my mouth to say something, then closed it again. What could I say? That I loved her? That would never work.
"Ekaitz" She said, looking almost worried "You know we're not even supposed to be friends. My father suspects something, your my friend. But I... I need a reason to keep up this deception!" She shook her head. Our races were enemies, but I just couldn't let her go. I met her eyes "Bridget.." I started, but looking in her rich deep green eyes made my heart stutter. 'My love.' I thought. 'How can I tell you?' I couldn't speak, couldn't think. Passion curled and burned within me like the bright flame her pelt resembled. My eyes softened. Leaning closer I kissed her. Heat flooding my face, electricity shooting through my limbs. All coming from where we touched. At first she was stiff beneath my touch, hesitant. But she soon relaxed leaning into this sweet slow kiss. Our breath mingling, her sweet, spicy scent filling my nose. She broke softly away, touching her brow to mine. Keeping our faces close. "I love you." I said softly. Feeling braver and stronger then I ever had before, if a little out of breath. I felt her smile as she whispered back "I know Ekaitz. I love you too."
Sappy fluffy heaven there. The back story on this is that both these characters are shape shifters, Ekaitz turns into a wolf/dog and Bridget into a a cat.(They can turn into anything, but these are they're favorite/most natural forms, which says a lot about them) Cat and dog shifters are two nations, always fighting one and other. Bridget's father is a high ranking general and very anti canine. Ekaitz is a reporter attached to the scouting and politics division. They met during the monthly meeting between the two races, and quickly became friends. Soon, they found ways to contact each other and would often meet secretly in they're beast-shapes. But soon what they had thought to be friendship turned out to be love and that leaves them with a whole new set of issues. They're races are going to war again. And with battle fields ready, Armour bright and weapons sharp. These two are questioning weather they're forbidden romance, or themselves, can make it out alive.
