what is a Aquirling? wrote:Aquirlings are a canine/feline and fish like creature. their fur ranching in almost any colour, being the only things not in their gene pool the bright neon colours. they have cat-like eyes, giving them a vertical pupil and sharp night vision. they have retractable claws and very keen balance. they have two large horns that grow from the top of their head that curls around their ears and can be trimmed down with clippers. they have lynx like ears, long pointed ears with long points of darker fur. Aquirlings have thick fur around their neck for shielding against attacks. they have a very pronounced breast bone that is used to make them more aerodynamic on land and water dynamic when swimming. along with this, Aquirlings have gills that are placed right below their jaw bone, which has two dull spikes protruding from it for protection. their legs have fins on them that start at the highest joint {for example the joint just below the shoulder or the hip joint} and go down to the ankle. they have a smooth sloping back with dorsal spikes coming from separate spine vertebrae. the most common amount is 4 spikes but there can be more or less. they have a long furred canine tail that can have spikes as well but it is highly unlikely. other than that there are two stripes on the aquirlings back that are usually randomly coloured. when a Aquirling is adopted, it is given a taming band, which is wrapped around the base of its tail, due to the creatures gills, and jaw spikes they cannot support a collar, so we came up with the next best thing.
