(Whisper's POV)
Morning comes, cold and foggy, with tendrils of mist spiraling off the surface of the pond.
I yawn as I walk into the woods. The grass is still a bit wet and tickles my feet.
"Well, happy birthday to me."
Alone as always.
At least my friends had left me presents. Besides, I don't mind a day of peace and solitude. Or I can at least pretend I don't. I'm not going to let myself spend the entire day wallowing in misery and self-pity. I'm better than that. I can go open my presents, have a nice cup of tea, and then spend the day tending to my flowers. A peaceful and fun day.
With that all figured out, I walked home while mentally debating which blend of tea I would use. That's why I was completely unprepared.
"SURPRISE!!!!"
Minerva jumps at me almost knocking me over. Behind her, I can see
Shey and
Lilian looking slightly concerned. (AN : Lilian is very smol, the other three could comfortably hold her in their hands, kinda bunny vs human sizes)
"Minerva!" Shey scolds, "What are you doing? Are you trying to give her a concussion?" She then turns to me and offers by ways of an apology "We baked you a cake. It's honey and lemon with some sugared flower petals on it."
I can see the cake on the table behind her. It's beautiful, with details of icing so small, that they could have only been done by Lilian. She's struggling to lift candles onto the cake and Minerva helps her to light them.
"I can't believe no one's even thrown you a birthday party before." says Lilian, "But that's okay, because we're going to throw you the best party ever!"
"Do you want to start with the cake?" asks Shey.
I nod, feeling slightly overwhelmed.
"Then presents!" says Minerva "Presents are the best part!"
I smile, thankful that her happy energy appears to be contagious.
"I'm just so surprised and happy and thankful and ..."
"At a loss for words?" asks Lilian cheekily, finishing my words.
I nod.
"That too."
"That's what friends are for." says Shey, as she dims the lights. "Don't worry. There'll be moments when we'll do unbearable things and you'll want to kill us all. But today, we celebrate. Happy birthday Whisper."

Relationships:Minerva; To be honest, Minerva scares Whisper a bit. Minerva tends to be full of energy that manifests itself in yelling and hugs. However, it's clear to her that Minerva only has Whisper's best interests at heart and does her best to be as kind as possible. Minerva keeps a vegetable garden and is a great cook, so she often brings Whisper food. In return, Whisper acts as Minerva's guide to the forest. Minerva is obsessed with birds, but refuses to keep them, believing that she cannot take proper care of them. Knowing this, Whisper takes her bird watching in the forest. It always amuses her to see Minerva squealing with delight when a bird perches near them. Claiming that Whisper acts as a magnet for animals, Minerva often calls her Snow White.
Shey; Shey is the one that Whisper is the closest to. Whisper greatly admires Shey's kindness and secretly aspires to be like her. In her opinion, Shey has the nicest house. It's a Victorian-style mansion in miniature with climbing ivy, marble steps, and of course, Shey's vast garden in the back. Shey mostly keeps flowers and always has gifts of pressed flowers, sugared petals, or homemade perfume for Whisper. She's also an amazing baker and always has some pastries or cakes to share. The two of them often go for long walks in which Whisper points out the indigenous plant life. Whisper is a decent artist and often gifts watercolors of forests or flowers to Shey. She's always very flattered when Shey hangs the paintings in her house.
Lilian; For the longest time, Whisper had the very silly and very irrational fear of squishing Lilian. Thankfully, it didn't take long for her to realize that Lilian was used to dodging the paws of those bigger than her and was never injured. After that, they hit it off pretty well. Whisper sewed a little bag so that she can carry around Lilian like a little lapdog. Surprisingly enough, Lilian's favorite activity is shopping and she actually has great taste. The two of them often go shopping together and Lilian seems like she's always able to find something amazing for ridiculously cheap. Lilian will also help Whisper with her painting and sewing, working on tiny details impossible for those larger.
