❝Where are you leading me, Scamper? To my death?❞ Rosefoot chided, fraught with curiosity. Biting her tongue, she fought a nervous giggle building in her throat. Scamper chucked softly, careful not to arouse attention of their whereabouts. He gripped Rosefoot's paw tightly, dragging her deeper into uncharted grounds of the forest. A couple of array stars and a half-hidden moon were their only light. ❝No. I only want to dance,❞ He assured her. ❝Cats can't dance,❞ ❝Have you ever tried?❞ ❝That's not the point,❞ Her patience with this boy was rapidly draining. She wanted to yank his paw right out of his and run back to her clan's camp. Where it was safe, with other cats. She knew Scamper meant no harm, but what would the others think if they saw them together? The cats and dogs were enemies.
