Show Name: Desert's Hope
Barn Name: Aja
Reason:
Chapter 1: Before Aja was rescued and adopted;;
Hi! I'm a 8 month old filly who lives in a herd of 6 soon to be 7. My mother is the lead mare along side a stallion. My father had lost the battle and got badly injured. He had later joined a band. We left my Father's side when I was just 3 months old. I barely can remember him, and look up to this new stallion as my father. He protects me with all his heart and keeps all danger away. He treats me as one of his own.

5 Months had passed, the foal finally was born and had been welcome into the world. The foal was also a filly and 3 months old and I being a yearling at 13 months old. She shared the same father as I, so this filly was my sister, just different mothers. I had a bad feeling this morning about this day, so I just stayed aware of everything and stayed close to my mother. Only a couple of hours had passed and there was roaring wings, herds and bands of horses gathering up. This was very unnatural. I've never seen it as for I was only a month old and kept hidden when it happen the first time, but this time there was no escape.

Half hour later our herd had been pushed into the other herds and bands. I tried to stay as close to my mother as I possibly could but then I realized my sister had fallen behind, and her mother got pushed into the crowd. I moved by my Sister's side and ran along side her with the herd. We had after an hour and half being moved, We had reached a crowd of humen and many fences. I was still walking along side my Sister and lost sight of our mothers. I nickered at my sister as horses began to push and shove as we made it into the gates. We were all very frightened. Suddenly my Sister had collapsed and horses began to trample her. I tried to help her back up but then I was pushed away along with the crowd.

Chapter 2: The rescue of the filly(story moved to the filly);;
I was terrified, My sister had walked along side me for most of the round up. I had ran out of energy by time we reached the gates and I had fallen to the ground by a gate, and I remember my sister trying to help me to my feet but that is that last I remember. I had finally began to wake, and I have never in my life felt so sore. I began to panic with the pain, everything being a blur. I then heard a cooing sound and for some reason when I felt a touch of this being it calmed me down and I knew I was safe. I have never met a human in my life, and I felt safe. The human had calmed me and held something that smelt almost familiar but not quite, but to my Mother's milk. I was unsure of this object but I moved in on it when I smelt something sweet. They call it honey.

4 Months have passed and I was 7 months old. My vision has gotten the worse of me. I was slowly becoming more and more blind, and it's officially said by the vet that by time I hit a year old I will be completely blind. They're unsure of how I didn't instantly become blind or at least more quickly. I was trampled, and had injuries, and my head hit a fence knocking me out when I the round up happen. I was given special treatment, and have recovered well. This human has become my best friend, and is teaching me trust other humen beings, and other horses. I've not gotten to see my other again, but the neighbors had managed to adopt my sister. It wasn't and til months later that they did blood tests and found out we shared the same father.

Chapter 3: Growing up and doing well;;

My sister was 20 months old and I was now 10 months old. I was almost a yearling, and 7 months has passed. My Vision was even more cloudy, and I could only tell when there was an large object, human, or another horse. It's even hard for me to catch site of a human being, but I have learn to get around relying on scent and hearing. Of all the horses I know I am one of the best at hearing, and catching a scent.

The 2 neighbors have become even better friends because of my sister and I. They would always go on trail rides, and take us ponied along side them. Even though I was only 3 months old, Nature and out int he forest has always made me happy and makes me feel more at home where I am. I could ask for anything more in my life but to know how my mother is doing and that she knows I am doing well.

Half a year has passed, and I'm 100% blind, my hearing is has tripled. I get around well just picking up scents and hearing objects around me. My sister was sold to my owner, and I follow her around to guide me. We also got to share the same large paddock with a fairly large stall. Printed on the door was a barn and show name each. My name plates were printed "Desert's Hope" for the show name, and "Aja" for my barn name. My sister's "Cinnamon Twister" for Show name and "Gingersnap" for Barn name.

Show Name: The Eyes of the Gods
Barn Name: Seer
Reason: Seer lost her sight due to a careless rider, a storm was brewing up in the mountains, but the rider decided that he could make it out of the valley and around the mountain before the storm made it down. It was a ride that usually took an entire day and he wanted to do it in hours. Myself and the barn manager tried talking him out of it, one of us distracting him with warnings and stories of what might happen while the other undid Seer's tack. This didn't stop him long, and eventually he was mounted and trying to ride past us as we blocked the door, but this boy had a death wish and forced Seer into a gallop, both the manager and I jumped out of the way, and were tempted to mount up ourselves and chase him down, however we both knew what was coming and needed to get all of the horses into shelter before the storm hit.

Seer knew something was coming she could feel it in her bones, she wanted to go back to the ranch, to shelter and safety, but she knew Tyler to well, he would never go back he liked to live on the edge, something she hated because it always put her in danger. This time was no different, the clouds above them darkened and the rain began heavy and hard, Seer tried to bulk as they reached the base of the mountain but Tyler would have none of it, he kicked her hard in the ribs, making her lurch forward and continue on, she ensured it was a slow reluctant forward though. Suddenly the thunder cracked above them and the lightning seemed to open the sky. This made her hair stand up, something that startled her because she knew that they were to close to the storm and to close to the danger, she could even feel that Tyler had bulked from the feeling, Seer didn't wait for a command she began to turn around, and walk forward, a second crack of thunder came from above, and suddenly flash of light and a loud bang, Seer jumped rearing up and nearly avoiding the tear that came crashing in front of her, she felt pain on her muzzle, and a weight lifted from her back, she knew Tyler had fallen off but she could not see anything except white and red. She jumped, over where she thought the tree was her forelegs cleared the trunk but her back landed on the edge causing her to fall and roll forward. After getting up she ran blindly to where she believed was home, in her fear she didn't use any of her other senses and hit many things, she also stumbled many times, but somehow she made it to the ranch, she didn't understand how she made it there but she did.

We waited in the house looking out the window for Tyler and Seer's return, we had managed to get all of the horses into the barns before the sky opened up and the thunder storm started, and had hoped that the two would have been back before the thunderstorm began, then I saw her Seer running wildly towards the barn. We ran out into the rain cooing to her and trying to calm her down, she was soaked and her face was covered in blood, from multiple scratches, her eyes had deep cuts. Once we got her into the barn we called the police and the vet, the police to look for Tyler and the vet to take a look and Seer. It was official she would be blind for the rest of her life but the cuts would eventually heal and she would only have minimal scaring.

Hope there wasn't a word limit...

Show Name: NVR Lethal Beauty
Barn Name: Wisteria
Reason:
As a young foal, Wisteria was known for her odd obsession with plants. She adored the array of colors that blossomed each spring, and would tend to them softly, plucking weeds and pouring rainwater off of barrels onto their delicate leaves. In the pasture there were many differant plants, all beautiful in their own way. But none of them intrigued her as much as the odd white plant just outside of the fence, bordering the dirt road nearby. The grass and meadows that grew on the other side of the path was unkempt and wild, leaving the plants to bloom freely. The white flower, however, had managed to creep over toward the pasture, its roots roaming over the low ditch, springing up above the fenceline. Wisteria watched its growth over several years, as it sprang from a tiny weed into a huge towering stalk, taller than her or her human companions. Eventually, the day came where its white umbrella like stalk towered over the the very top rail of the fence. At first, Wisteria was ecstatic - she could finally pluck a seed from the gorgeous beast of a plant and add it to her garden. Though as she rummaged through the bristly flowers she noticed an odd secretion, much like sap, smothering her face. It began to burn just slightly as the sunlight glinted off her wet face, but she payed no mind. As she reached over to grip the base of the plant with her teeth, she felt the sap drip down her forehead. She drew back, but not fast enough, as the goop slipped into her eyes. The pain was mild at first, barely noticeable really. But anytime she opened them to the morning sun it was like claws were digging behind her eyelids. She felt her vision blur, and panic rose in her chest. Rushing to the pond nearby she faltered dramatically, trying the blink away the sap under the water, but the damage was already done. She stood and stared out at the world around her. It was all a blur of shapes and dull colors. Furious, she raced back to the fence and trampled over the wretched plant, and in the process destroyed the small garden she had once loved so much.
She later learned about the plant she had pined after all those years - the giant hogweed. A horrid thing that burned the flesh it touched and, in the young filly's case, caused permanent blindness with its wicked sap. Her humans noticed her predicament far too late, and though they were able to destroy the weed once and for all, she was still left blinded by the incident. Without being able to see the colors of spring each year, Wisteria grew depressed and withdrawn from her usual happy and doting self. She spent her time alone and sullen, feeling the harsh claw marks of thorn bushes and thistles as she wondered aimlessly through her once prestigious garden.
