"Higher,whats wrong with auntie..?She looks...crazy."
Higher gave me a look of shock,"What color where dear auntie's eyes?"He said to me,I rememeber it perfectly.
"Red."I responded.
Higher,my father,crouched down and let out a yowl."Evacuate,evacuate!The death,its back!"
I scurried behind a bush,too scared to go with the others.The sound of so many paws hitting the ground,Kanix's of all shapes and sizes.The mews of the kits,the scowls of the elders.Those old bags of fur,how they hated to do anything.Auntie turned her head,her mouth stained crimson,blood dripping down from her chin.Her left shoulder looked like something had bitten into it,ripped a chunk out and left her to bleed.She had done it herself.I saw a flash golden and white fur,the choke of my auntie as my father snapped her neck with his teeth.He shut my eyes tight,too afraid,to scared to look.When I opened them,auntie lay on the ground,father towering above her,the blood now dripping from his muzzle.I peered out from the bushes,my head sticking out.
"Auntie...Higher...?"
Thats was my first encounter with the desease.But it was so long ago.Now I was the Higheress,I was the leader of the pride.My eyes flashed open.My ussually black and white coat was splattered and stained with blood,my own.I looked into the eyes of my enemy,and opened my mouth to suck in a breathe,also,accidently getting some blood.
"You know why your auntie got the desease,and your father?Because only the weak get the deasease!Puh,you even called it by the wrong name!"
This,caught me by surprise.Only the weak?The wrong name?We called it the death.My beliefs were wrong?
"Its called Kaniche,loosely translated as 'inner soul'.Oh,and your father was never strong.You should be next."My opponent gave an evil kackle,gurgling some crimson liquid in his throat.
"What...What do you mean..?He was the strongest in the pride..."I choked out,my body starting to twitch,to recooperate.
The large male burst out in laughter,"No!Strong in the mind silly little puppet!His mind was weak,he wasn't supposed to be the leader.Infact,your whole family have come down with Kaniche,your next in line,my dear."
"Your lying!"A yowl escaped me,newly found strength coursing through my viens,I snapped up,my upper lip lifting in a vicious snarl,revieling my pearly white teeth.
I lunged for him,my claws extended to their fulled length,and bashed into his side,dug my teeth into his throat and bit down as hard as I could.Blood splattered onto my darkly colored face,and I shut my green eye,as well as my blue one.My eyes were multicolored.Then I pulled back,using the muscle in my neck and shoulder.I heard defeaning snap comming from the neck of the male,and I let go,taking a step back.No..No...No....Whats was happening!?Father,weak of mind?My whole family,caught by the desease?Two weaks later,I was banished from this land,thrown out to find the cure...The reason...Help...
